Pros & cons Pros- they are lucky their property is on a beach, Cons- hotel is unkempt, poor/rude management, insect problem (for a more detailed & lengthy encounter read below) I booked a 2 night stay at lookout lodge resort in Islamorada for my wife & myself for our anniversary. We live in Ft Lauderdale & chose the keys because... More

Some guests you just cannot please. Our Guest Relations staff tried eveything to please this couple including offering them a refund for their 1st nights stay or upgrading to a full suite even though we found no evidence of a problem in the Mini-Suite. They chose to upgrade at the same rate and then they were surprised that they were... More

I have driven by Sunset Lodge many times while doing business in the Keys. A few months back I stopped in their office and met Greg the manager. The reception and, after a tour, the property were so inviting I could have stayed that night! Last week I took my girl and found the place to be everything I read,... More

This place is way over-rated. The rooms are dark and small, and the coffee maker didn't work, the fridge barely kept things cool, if at all. There Is NOTHING at this place for amenities but a small swim area and "beach". Although we had pre-booked for 3 nights and couldn't get a refund, we left after the first morning and... More

Guest complained that they could get a better rate elsewhere after they checked in. We offered an upgrade, but they wanted to change hotels. Guest booked thru Expedia, and both Expedia and our staff tried to relocate guest, but they were not happy. We have NEVER had bedbugs here! Shame on a guest for making up stories.... More

Our third visit to Lookout Lodge was even better than the first two. The newly-redecorated suite was pleasant and comfortable. As always, the staff was attentive and supportive, but not intrusive. There really wasn't a down side to this visit.

Through a twist of fate we ended up at the Lookout Lodge and felt like we were in Paradise. It is a small resort but immaculately clean and beautiful rooms. The dock area give you stunning views of the gulf and the sunset. This is not an all inclusive, cater to your every need kind of resort, but it is... More

The Lookout Lodge has to be one of the nicest hotels we have EVER visited! The place is a little bit of heaven stuck in the middle of the Keys. The view from the back of the hotel is straight out of a tropical photo shoot! We experienced breathtaking sunsets, starry nights and fun filled sunny days! We even saw... More

My stay at Lookout Lodge was very enjoyable. The room was your basic roadside motel, nothing special, but it was clean. I think most places in Key Largo and surrounding area are WAY over-priced for what you're getting, but it's the Keys. Lookout Lodge was right off the highway, so if you stay there, try and get a room as... More

Nothing fancy at the Lookout Lodge, but the private beach on the bayside is outstanding and the Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Very quiet. Next door to the Milemarker 88 Restaurant that is awesome. Will stay here again the next time I'm in the Keys.

We had a great time. This is an Old Florida Resort, not the over commercialized Fu-Fu Resort. Very comfortable and friendly staff. I also found a tour on Facebook that really shows off what you will expect. http://rtvpix.com/RS-8857-8YNAOE-01. Hope we can go back in the Spring!!
