To get the most important thing out of the way first, I read reviews talking about a lazy or rude staff. I was very mindful of that, nothing ruins a stay more than pissy hotel staff. The front desk clerks couldn't have been more friendly and accomodating. I spoke with Floyd when I booked the room and he also took... more

I went to Key West with a group of 6 friends for our 1st annual girl's trip. We spent three nights in Douglas House and couldn't have had a better experience! Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff was down to earth, friendly and so helpful. We all had a great time. more

I have stayed at the Douglas House about 6 times now, over the last 5 years. Only once did i find the room to be less-than-ideal (but cheap as heck!). Recently I took a couple of friends there - one of whom is VERY picky and the other who is the exact opposite. BOTH of them loved it. The room... more

We stayed May 23-26 in room #13. After checking in they gave us a tour and explained the gate and the breakfast. The room is on the second floor and over looks the gardens and pool. It was newly remodeled and extremely clean. Parking is free down the street they have a "lot" for the hotel guests. We loved the... more

Four stars for the room we got, it was a nice large suite with two flat screen TV's we didn't use, nice tropical furniture and treatments, and a big comfy king size bed. There were two unwanted guests staying with us though, one Mr. Hornet, and later on one Ms. Palmetto bug. The jacuzzi came in very handy after a... more

The Douglas House was recomended to us by a friend who has been there on several different occassions. We were exahausted from traveling all day when we arrived, I have to disagree with the other reviews I read. The staff was very helpful infact went out of the way to help us with luggage, parking the car and booking trips... more

The rooms are acceptable in comfort and decor, although the beds are uncomfortable. The gardens are very nice and the area is quiet. This B&B would have rated higher if it wasn't for the rude staff. Everyone I encountered from the receptionist to the manager was mean and nasty. I will be looking for a new B&B for my next... more

I have stayed at the Douglas house twice, both times when I was traveling alone and wanted a quick get away. Given the pricey options in Key West, I have been pleased with the Douglas House for seveal reasons. 1) Like most beach B&B's/hotels, it gets alot of wear and tear, but the owners continually do work. The rooms are... more

First, the staff acts like they are doing you a favor if you stay there....they need to go to charm school. Their attitude is BAD. Room had kitchenette but no plates, no eating utensils. Room service was bad. No wash cloths one day. When told the front desk the response was "wait a minute" and they handed me the towels... more

Yes, it could use sprucing up a bit, but the staff were doing some painting and repairs (quietly) while we were there. We stayed in the Princess Palms room and for the most part it was great. Internet connection was great, as I had to (unfortunately) do some remote work while we were there. Patio area is nice, lush vegetation... more
