Found The Mermaid & The Alligator on Tripadvisor because of all the positive reviews and booked 4 nights. We never planned a trip without some known recommendations and did not know what to expect. We were more than delighted when we arrived. Dean and Paul were gracious hosts and Geri planned a sailing trip for us that was perfect. The... More

We really loved our stay here and found it quiet and serene but centrally located in walking distance to restaurants, sightseeing and Duval Street. We had a car but didn't move it the entire stay because it was more fun to walk everywhere. The tropical gardens are gorgeous and the wine served in the evenings is a nice touch. I... More

I had wanted to write a review about this little piece of paradise when my husband and I first returned home in November, 2013, but never got around to it. I just sent my deposit for our return trip this November, 2014! Cannot wait to return to Key West and do the things we hadn't gotten to do on our... More

Good location. Even though we were on truman avenue it was very quiet. You walk to just about anywhere. We were also given tips about more local dining experiences, one being called 'seven fishes'. We stopped in the garden room... A surprise being the glass block shower. Don't worry no-one can see! There is no tv in the room but... More

I visited this small hotel, well bed and breakfast really, with an American friend . I am English and we both loved it . The rooms are individually styled and the gardens a haven . Pools a delight too.

Just finished our 4-day trip to Key West and staying at The Mermaid and Alligator. Dean and Paul created a wonderful B&B. The staff, Geri and Rebecca, are very gracious ladies and do all they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are all well appointed and the breakfasts are always fantastic. You'll need to be... More

It's been awhile since our visit. Just wanted to send a belated thank you to the staff for a wonderful time. Very friendly ad helpful staff. Very clean rooms. Outstanding grounds, and a delish breakfast. Walking distance to all the attractions. Very professional staff. Hope to be back soon.

We had the pleasure of a last minute one night stay at the Mermaid & The Alligator about five months ago and could not wait to get back for a longer visit. Last week we enjoyed three nights in the Audubon Room and are already planning our next trip back. The home is absolutely beautiful with lush tropical gardens to... More

Before coming to Key West, I spent a lot of time reviewing information on tripadvisor and after reading about this venue, made my decision. But pictures and words could not describe the beauty and relaxation of this place. The innkeepers and all staff members are terrific in addition to the facility being top notch and interesting. Other guests were delightful... More

The Mermaid and the Alligator sets the standard for B&B's. It is in a lovely old house, tastefully decorated with beautiful, lush tropical grounds. Late afternoon is a great time to spent around the small pool drinking a cool glass of water. An Excellent, freshly prepared breakfast is served each day on the patio, wine served late afternoon, with other... More
