My boyfriend and I stayed at the Chelsea House in April 2011, and we'd definitely stay here again. It's a great location. Only 5 minutes to Duval Street. And it's supposedly haunted. We stayed in part of the attic that had been converted to a bedroom. Talk about charm. Not too expensive, very comfortable, continental breakfast, great location, friendly and... More

Our stay at Chelsea house in Key West was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect; 5 minute walk to Duval street, 20 minute bike ride to Smathers beach. No car needed, we walked and biked everywhere. Staff helpful, breakfast was simple but good, pool was clean and well maintained. The room was tiny, but expected of a historic home.... More

On a recent weekend stay in Key West, my husband and I wanted a place with Key West charm that was also affordable, within walking distance to the main areas, and preferably included parking and breakfast. The Chelsea House fit the bill for all of the above. As a converted home from over 100 years ago, Chelsea House is now... More

Very lovely folks running a handsome trio of houses, all gathered together under the name Chelsea House. Having three properties allows the ultimate Key West luxury - free parking on site! We drove down from Miami, which is scenically exciting - and 3-1/2 hours long. But once we arrived we never used the car again. The staff is friendly and... More

Opening the door to our room, #3, a stink of mold and mildew overpowered us. I mean the whole room stunk. We opened the door and let the breeze clear out some of the rancid odor. Sadly, after two days or so, the odor became commonplace and the norm. The porch facing Truman Ave was pleasant. The staff was no... More

We prebooked online. Key West hotels are expensive and Chelsea House is one the cheaper. We were not expecting anything too good. On arrival the room we were given was awful. The smell of damp over powering, there was not even acupboard in which in which to hang clothes, just two hooks on the wall. A small room with a... More

We were very disappointed. We were put in the Attic of the house which had slanted ceilings and a very very small room. They apologized becasue they realize that it is substandard room , but offered no discount. It had a full bed that was very soft and was too short. The room was substandarded and did not come close... More

Great spot. Within a very easy walk of all the Key West stores and bars, but far enough away to be totally quiet. One of a set of hotels under the same ownership on the same street. A large old house converted to a hotel. Charming but certainly aging. A nice decently priced find but not for people who need... More

Old Key West charm- cluster of three well maintained , white Victorian style buildings remodeled into rooms of every type and description- very quaint and relaxing- not a "cookie cutter" chain operation- makes you feel like your living in Key West- fair price- free private parking- walk to just about everything- breakfast included- Hemingway would have loved it More

We stayed here for two nights during our quick visit to the Keys. Pros: Great location nice bathroom balcony cute decor nice pool/landscaping free parking Cons: Mattress wasn't great--which was very out of place in a room that expensive very small room (about the size of an average NYC hotel room) Balcony was shared with another room, although we never...
