My travel agent booked this place for us to spend one night in Key West to watch the boat parade and do some partying. $200 we got room 14, very small but not a real problem because we didn't plan on spending much time there. Front desk people were very nice as we got there way before check in but... More

It is such a shame to hear that some inconsiderate guests decided to argue and fight in the middle of the night, disrupting the peace and calm for other guests at the hotel. How rude of them, and I'm sorry it happened. I wish you would have called the night manager (his number is given to you at check-in) to... More

We stayed in a Superior Queen room and loved it. The room was really cute and it looked like the bathroom had been updated recently. The shower was huge! Overall, the room was fairly small, but that's what we expected when we booked a room at a historic location. It was worth it to stay in such a great location.... More

I have to admit at being apprehensive about staying at this hotel given its poor rating on TripAdvisor. I booked an Economy room, as I was by myself, but read so many bad reports about them that I changed to a “Superior” room, not the word I would use! I was with a group, some of whom had stayed there... More

Hi Mr. Willrich, From reading your review in its entirety, it looks like you are doing a comparison between the Chelsea House Pool & Gardens and the resort you stayed at on your previous visit to Key West. It's like comparing apples to oranges, contrasting a small privately owned Historic Key West Inn to a large resort owned by the... More

We stayed the weekend of 11/21 - 11/23 and were very satisfied with our stay. Previous reveiws advised tha the hotel was too pricey for what it was. First of all you are paying for the location and then the amenities. The room was confortable and updated but the breakfast was average. The employees where very friendly and helpfull. I... More

Stayed at Chelsea House, rm 16. Very friendly staff. Room was very nice ... not big but nice. They serve a continental breakfast that was fresh and offered a wide variety to choose from. Just a couple blocks off Dual St. And within walking distance to everything. Overall a great place to stay.

My room was in the attic, under the dormer, next to a brick chimney. I could not stand up to get out of bed on my side (all 5'5" of me). In wall air conditioner was about 3 1/2 feet above our heads and ran loudly all night (on/off button did not work). Shower curtain was too short resulting in... More

Hi Jim C, I see from the notes on your reservation that you reserved the most economically priced room and were informed in advance that your room would be one of the unique loft rooms on the third floor. If you didn't want to be in that room, we could have easily moved you to a room on the first... More

Decent location but very tiny rooms for the price. There are better places in the area for what this resort offers. Our room was 165 sq ft. You can tell the owners worked to maximize the number of rooms on the property but didn't care about space.

The Chelsea House Pool & Gardens is not a resort, but a Historic Key West Inn with accommodations in three Victorian-era buildings. Our smaller "economy" rooms are perfect for those who prefer the lowest price point, but we have something for everyone here, including more spacious "superior" queen rooms, king guestrooms, double queen rooms, and even a couple of "Junior... We stayed here in an economy queen room for 3 nights at the beginning of Fantasy Fest. I picked it because it was a little cheaper than some of the other places we have stayed in the past, like the Duval Inn, Seascape Tropical Inn, and Rose Lane Villas. It is a little farther away from the bars on Duval,... More

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to post your review. I'm glad you really liked our great location, larger- than-normal -for- Key West swimming pool, the unbelievably delicious pastries that are delivered daily from a local bakery, and grounds, etc. The economy queen rooms are the only ones that don't have mini-refrigerators, so you may have found it...
