This was our second visit to the Speakeasy, and it won't be our last. Rooms are clean and simple, not a lot of stuff you don't need. They do have a unique flair, very appropriate to the island. This hotel was a very good value in a place where most places are really expensive. The room was nice, but minimalistic. There was no central air, but the window unit worked well. The walls are very thin. The door to the bathroom was louvered, so the person in the other room could hear everything going on in the bathroom...... more

Not at all what was expected, and the owner was rude and unreasonable. We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the room above the store which had a private balcony facing both Duval and the back garden. The back garden has a quite waterfall, 2 chairs with umbrellas shading them and is beautiful landscaped. We never saw anyone back there and it felt like our own... more

The Speakeasy Inn in located on Duvall St., but away from the noisy area. It is in a great location and you can walk just about anywhere. The rooms are clean and crisp. The only complaints I have.....no breakfast, no maid service daily, and no fresh linens....they came to empty our trash once and gave us clean towels. The towels... more
