One bedroom guesthouse in the heart of old town Key West was a pleasant stay. I usually stay at an Inn on Elizabeth St but wanted a larger suite. Had a private entrannce on a quiet alley. Only problem with the suite was a skylight over the bed with no option for shade - made for early than desired rising... more

I normally do a good job researching and booking hotels and inns, but this was a mistake. The so-called "pool" described on the Web site is a freaking hot tub. I can understand the appeal in, say, January on a cool night, but not in June when it's 90 degrees. I wanted to take a dip to cool off after... more

The check in service was a nightmare. No apology for the wait, no apology for leaving me standing outside a locked door like a vagrant while she chatted up and checked in other guests. No apology for the lie she told about the door being broken as the reason why I couldn't get into the office. The online pics of... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the larger rooms and it was wonderful. The location was great and the grounds very pleasant. I would advise that the single rooms were, indeed, very small and I would not recommend them for an extended stay. My only other comment is that the walls are very thin so people who... more

Actually, I stumbled across the Merlin Guesthouse when trying to book a last minute reservation during the spring break season. We decided at the last monent to plan a trip down from Alabama. I guess I booked the room the Merlin had available because I didn't have a selection or room types. Lucky us. We booked the king guestsuite in... more

The hotel is in gorgeous Old Town really close to Duval street and within walking distance of the best parts of Key West. The rooms were clean and cosy although a little small, and there are no wardrobes, only drawers and 3 hooks which you could get a few hangers on if you wanted (we found hangers in our drawers... more

After reviewing a lot of other locations in Key West, I stumbled across Merlin's Guesthouse. It was to be a surprise, romatic get away for my boyfriend's birthday. We had a great time. It was better than I had hoped for. It is truly romatic, rustic, old FL. If you are wanting the Ritz-Carltin type of atmosphere, don't go there. If... more

We arrived on Sunday and stayed until Tuesday. The Merlin Inn worked out very well for us. Only one block away from Duval Street, it was easy to just leave the car parked and walk. The outside area was clean and kept up nice, as was our room. We did not use the pool, but it looked very clean. It... more

Our rooms were booked using TripAdvisor for our stay at the Merlin Guesthouse in Key West, Florida on January 25, 2009. The bathroom floor was so dirty that if you walked on it after taking a shower your feet were black. We stayed in a two level guesthouse that had a spiral staircase that had a couple rails missing. THis... more

I love the Merlin I have stayed there twice with my family. We rented the 2 bedroom cottages both times and it was perfect! The kitchen was large with nice beds that were comfy and it was a quiet place to stay. We loved the pool and hotub was very nice and the ground are also pretty. There are some... more
