Our room was not large but it was spotless, crisp white sheets and comfortable bed and pillows. Outdoor breakfast was relaxing - plenty of good coffee and numerous breakfast choices. The pool is small but it has jets and is soooo relaxing after a day of bike riding/sight seeing in Key West. The poinciana tree overhung the patio and it... More

This place is transporting! Lush gardens keep it quiet and make it feel special. It is parallel to Duvall by 2 blocks so it is quiet. You can walk everywhere. We stayed in room 11 which is in the middle of the complex. There are some rooms that face the street, these might not have been as quiet. That being... More

I had a very pleasant stay at the Merlin with some friends in January. We booked one of the roomy guesthouses, which had a full kitchen, dining area, two bedrooms and a living room. We very much enjoyed the outdoor spaces with their lush foliage, pool area, hammock and porch swing. The hotel is operated by very helpful, friendly staffers... More

Stayed at the Merlin Guesthouse for three nights. The room was large and quite nice. The bed and the bedding were great. The bathroom was adequate with a smallish fiberglass shower. The room was very clean. We did have to request that the room be made up one afternoon when we returned at 2:45PM. The pool is small and was... More

We're glad you liked your large room, bed, bedding, and cleanliness at the Merlin Guesthouse. Our housekeeping staff typically service the rooms which have someone checking in that day first to make sure they're ready for new arrivals, and then they do housekeeping service on the rooms for in-house guests, with all rooms being completed by around 3:30pm. We would... More

We needed to relax and the Merlin Guesthouse was just what we needed. Our king size room had a comfy sectional sofa. The room was full of character with exposed beams and a lovely wooden wall behind the bed. Spacious, charming, relaxing, clean. The inn was a quiet balance to our time outside in keyed up Key West. Bicycles, the... More

We stayed at Merlin for 4 nights in May. We had a great time! The location was perfect, we found free street parking (with the help of hotel staff), and walked everywhere for the duration of our stay. We stayed in room 16, and were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. Everything was really clean, staff was friendly,... More

Location was good. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was yummy. Parking was difficult but we always figured something out (no lot…need to find something on the street). Our room was wonderful! The airconditioning unit was very loud. A maintenance person came to look at it but both nights it made loud noises often which made it difficult to sleep soundly although... More

We spent two nights at this hotel, it's located one block from Duval Street, thus close to the nightlife and streetlife of that hopping street and far away to give you break from the action as well. The hotel has a small pool with lots of recliners and a nice shaded area for breakfast. There's a hammock for guest use... More

Very expensive for the small size of the room, but then, everything in Key West is expensive. We did like that it was older, historic, but not falling apart. I was surprised to see our room (though very small) had the original floors beautifully refinished, the beams exposed overhead, a nice four poster bed, and the original tiles in the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Merlin house in March for a long weekend get-a-way. Since this was our first time to Key West, we did not know what to expect. From the time of our arrival to our departure, the staff was superb. They were super friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but we didn't mind because... More
