Kenneth was most helpful and pleasant during our stay. He went above and beyond when our plans changed. Our room was comfortable, clean and the location is the best of all the places we've stayed in paradise. Great little restaurant across the street too! Lovely pool, resident feline add to the charm. Adequate continental breakfast. Would recommend without hesitation.

This really is a special place. Excellent location. Beautiful grounds and out door sitting areas. A private parking lot. All these make the Merlin a good choice. Rooms are small except for King rooms. They have all been recently renovated. Continental breakfast is basic. Prices are competitive with other properties but being able to just park your car and walk... More

The Merlin Guest House has much to recommend it: location, quaint setting, nice pool setting; but our first impressions turned negative when we found our room. It was a queen bed (which we knew) in a very small room (170 sq ft) with no space to hang any clothes. The bathroom had only one small shelf and no room to... More

Merlin Guest House is part of the Historic Key West Inns organization and definitely meets up to their standards. Our room was one of the small rooms facing Simonton St. The room is typical "Key West" with the slatted shutter on the window, the open-beamed ceiling, and dark hardwood floors. It is very small and if staying longer than a... More

Nice spacious room by little pool, lush, tropical setting, quiet, good daily breakfast, helpful staff. Brought bikes was the best decision. We toured the whole of Key West with them. Really nice SMALL restaurant diagonally across street from entrance. Can't remember the name, but terrific food and atmosphere. Highly recommend staying at Merlin Guest House on Simonton St. Was our... More

This little hotel is absolutely marvelous. It's really not a hotel or guesthouse. It's a few houses, or so it seems, each with a few rooms. Set behind a fence and with lush gardens and trees everywhere, I had the feeling I should be sipping mint juleps. The pool. Well, it's a pool-sized hot tub, set at 88°. Perfection. You... More

The rooms facing Simonton street are quite small, but you are rarely in your room. I didn't notice street noise much at all (unless the roosters crowing in the morning count.) The location is excellent, and the continental breakfast is more than adequate. We stayed four nights in mid January. The manager is very friendly, and the staff is very... More

Do not stay in any room facing Simonton Street. They have little to no privacy if shutter is open as everyone walking by on Simonton can look in. Very noisy from traffic and pedestrians. Room is small, bath room is tiny. Unfinished ceiling. No coffee maker in room. No closet. No desk. No suitable chair. AC very noisy. Continental breakfast... More

A boutique hotel on a lovely piece of property at Simonton and Petronia. We stayed 3 nights in the basic room which was fine. However, if I was going to stay longer I would upgrade to the mini suite with a sofa, fridge and coffeemaker. The staff were phenomenal and the property immaculate. We stayed over New Years' Eve and... More

The bed was perfect. Plenty of room for the 3 of us. The pull out bed was tolerable. The kitchen was well stocked. The breakfast was an extended continental, but plenty. The orange juice is delicious. The pool is a giant Jacuzzi and the perfect temperature. We really enjoy it after a day at the beach.
