I have been down to the Florida Keys several times (10+) in the last 2 years and Key Largo is by far the best Key of them all. Not to far from the mainland but far enough to relax and enjoy the quiet and relaxing “Island life” Bay Cove Motel offers. Very easy place to find too, just look for the fork in the road and the tower above at mile marker 99.5 Bay Side. I am an avid SCUBA Dive Instructor and there are a lot of dive operators very near Bay Cove Motel too (like Captain Slate’s Atlantis Dive Center).

Bay Cove Motel has always been a great place for my groups to say at. I love their dock. The sunsets are spectacular from this spot, especially with a drink in hand. Their rooms are clean and quiet, (and well air-conditioned if so desired). Plenty of space to wash and hang dive gear up to dry too, a real plus for us. Cell phones work great from here if you are so inclined but I usually like to escape all forms of “civilization” while staying here. Their beach is small... more
