This place was typical Keys hotel. We stayed at the Seafarer via a dive package through our local dive shop. What was nice was we did not have to worry about making a mess. We have two young boys and this was a perfect place for them. If you are expecting a regular hotel this is not it. Clean but... more

If you are interested in a million dollar resort, with everything being perfect this ain't for you. Go there and spend $600 a night. If you want a friendly staff and a clean room without a ton if amenities, BUT CLEAN and humble, go here (at least the $79 room were this), you can go down to the water and... more

I was with my husband and two friends. We had a hard time finding a place that would accomodate 4 of us in one room. My husband found this place on the Internet and called them directly. We booked the room with not too high expectations since we wanted to be outside for most of our trip. We flew in... more

The Fodors book said that this was a nice place to stay so my wife booked us there. We like to spend our money on the mom and pop establishments and everything we read seemed really nice. When we arrived the front desk person seemed a bit dis-interested in us, but we were checked in promptly. We were told our... more

My wife and I were in Florida for a romantic vacation, to the point of if the right spot is found we would get married. Checked out several spots and did not find anything to our liking. We saw an ad for the Seafarer and thought we would stop to check it out. Yes it is a simple resort type... more

Would I return? Definately! This was our second stay at Seafarer. Look, we are divers. We spend our time diving not hanging out in at a tiki bar with room service. The place isn old, yes, but it has weathered MANY hurricanes, and it was clean. The staff was friendly and very accomidating. This is our 2nd stay here and... more

The room was functional, but not a resort as the name states. Don't come here with high expectations. The window privacy was marginal at best due to the inadequate coverage of the drapes - luckily the extra towels in the room worked well as drapes. The room showed it's age, but was clean. Were there some bugs in the room?... more

This is the perfect divers hotel. We booked with Garden Cove Divers who also arranged the hotel. Room was clean, there was soap, plenty of towels for all 4 of us, coffee and filters were provided along with plenty of silveware. We were in the Beach House on the Bay with a great view. Room had everything you needed, kitchen... more

Let me start off by saying...YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. This place was pretty cheap and by looking at their pictures online, it didn't look too bad. But, pictures can be deceiving. This place had insects of all sorts inside the rooms and bugs on the bathroom counter. LOTS OF MOLD!! The shower was covered in mold. I had... more

Management response from
LocalKeyLargo, manager

As manager at this resort under the newer owners for 3 years, I will personally guarantee that there is no mold in the bathrooms or any other guest room in this resort. The place is old, yes. It has its battle scars, yes, including old mildew stains on the grouting in some units. --HOWEVER-- It is also kept scrupulously clean,...

The best thing that you could say about our room at this place was that it was clean and quiet. Other than that it was mighty basic. Kind of a glorified shed with a mattress that was at least 50 years and windows that were held in place with peeling tape. Definitely Keys Funky and not even cheap! more
