Was recommended to us by a friend. We only had one night, but what a nice spot. Lovely cottages along a strand heading down to the beach. Room was perfectly fine. Very comfortable. Breakfast was a bit….minimal. Packaged pastries, a couple kinds of cereal, bread for toast. Coffee/expresso/cappuccino machine, milk and orange juice in a fridge. A bit more basic... More

HI , Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad that your friend recommended us and more importantly that enjoyed your stay! Getting out in water on the free kayaks is definitely a favorite amongst our guests and we are so happy that you were able to experience our beautiful island on our kayaks. We hope you will... More

If you are like us and you come to Key Largo just for the diving, then The Pelican is a great spot. It's close to everything and the price is reasonable. $120/night during Spring Break is pretty good. Each room is a bungalow. Updating needed? Of course, it's Key Largo after all. Most buildings here haven't changed since the 50s... More

My husband visited recently for the second time recently and we love the place. Rooms are super basic but clean, the property is lush and the dock, our favorite, is so peaceful. Watching the boats in the morning or evening is so nice and sunsets great from this spot. Since we were here last the price has tripled, but we... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. All the rooms have names. We had a small room called the Banana which we absolutely loved. It had everyting you could want - fridge, microwave and TV. The room was clean with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was well kept and very clean. Out the front of the room was a table... More

Maybe not top of the range but the time we had at the Pelican can only be marked as top rate. The accommodation was reasonably priced, clean and comfortable and I would go back despite the little hiccup of water overflowing as it was dealt with immediately or at least it felt that way as we spend the hour or... Unfortunately some of the reviews you see on here are a bit off. We have stayed here a few times now and I can't say enough about the staff or the hotel itself. This is not a 5 star modern hotel, it doesn't bill itself as one. What it is, a clean nice place to stay in the keys. It... More

We had explored reviews and had chosen this place to stay based on so many positive reviews. What a disappointment to arrive and find a property of old, run-down cabins. When we walked into our room, there was a distrinct, unpleasant odor. The furniture was extremely old, outdated, and worn. The window wouldn't close, the sliding door wouldn't latch or... More

The Pelican consists of a narrow waterfront lot between highway 1 and the water with a westerly exposure. On it are 6 buildings with 23 rental units in them They are cabin type buildings which with good maintenance and a decorator's eye could be charming. The waterfront consists of two long docks with a boat ramp between. There is some... More

Old Florida. Rooms small, but clean. Housekeeping had to be tracked down to get fresh towels, soap etc. No coffee in room, instant coffee, no fresh fruit at breakfast. On the plus side: The dock area was great for kicking back, sunning, reading etc. Didn't try the kayaks. Wouldn't recommend for swimming. 'Beach' is a gravel boat landing. Overall, would... More
