Walking into our cottage (Marlin Room) it was roasting from the lack of AC that had not been turned on. The floors were filthy, the "stocked" kitchen had a few miserable utensils and plates. The oven was missing it's handle for crying out loud. The dishes had to be washed before use regardless of the note that annotated they had... More

The Pelican is a very small, but very quaint get away, close to Miami. Very typical "Keys" motif - each unit has a unique name (Parrot Head, The Dolphin, etc.) It is an older hotel, and the rooms are not huge, but are clean, and doesn't have a musty smell at all. Most rooms have 2 double beds, a small... More

We stopped here for a night with friends on our way to Key West. It reminded me of places I stayed in as a kid before we could afford nice hotels, but really it was just right and well priced. We stayed in the Conch room. Very clean bathroom. A/C worked fine and the shower was great. Bring your own... More

My husband and I booked The Pelican for our 10 year anniversary and my birthday. While the room was small, only room for a bed, small dresser, and small refrigerator; it was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The water was amazingly clear and beautiful. Only downside, the kayaks were not the best quality.

Individual cottages that are clean and comfortable. Different amenities available in different rooms, so make sure you check on what you need before you book. Has its own dock and boat slips for registered guests. Nice bayside sandy seating for relaxing. It is basic, definitely no frills. If you need to be catered to and massaged, etc, go to the... More

This place is close to getting four spots from me, except for the following. Probably a good idea at one time, I think they should have done a bit of updating outside of Wi-Fi and cable. Nothing really bad about the "oldness" of the buildings, but little things like irons, space for bags, slightly larger TVs, and more parking spaces... More

The Pelican consisted of a nice little group of beach huts. I won't lie, I was a little taken aback at how small our room was. The bed was pushed into the corner of the room and there wasn't the floor space for our bags. There was, however, a fridge, microwave, television and a small seating area just outside the... More

The photos on the Internet rarely reflect the reality of accommodations. I was excited about our stay at the Pelican Cottages in Key Largo until I arrived and saw what they really looked like. I believe we ended up paying $175 a night and I don't believe it was worth it. Yes, the cottage was close to the water and... More

My wife and I had a great stay at The Pelican while we dove with a local SCUBA company! The room was comfortable with a comfortable bed and good A/C. The room was cleaned every day, so no complaints there. The complimentary breakfast was good for morning fuel for the diving. We also appreciated taking the free kayaks out onto... More
