Part of the reason we booked here was to access the "free" kayaks. While they insisted they had kayaks, the kayaks did not have seats and there was only one single and one double. When I questioned the innkeeper regarding this, he insisted they had kayaks, we just had a "difference of opinion." The "free" bikes were unusable.

The Pelican is a small mom and pop old cottage resort, like many in the Keys. Pull in the drive and the cottages are surrounded by lush trees. We were on a bit of a budget, so we opted for a non-waterfront cottage, the Pineapple. It is small, but for the price was fine. Furnishings were older, the sheets a... More

The two days we were there they were having trees trimmed, power washing the docks, and making repairs to the office building. Our room needed a new sofa and refrigerator. Sitting out at night when the workers had gone home for the day was pleasant.

Great place that had amazing view of the water. Little cottage type rooms open up to a gravel drive that goes straight to the docks. The landscape is beautiful, very laid back feel with palm trees and cabanas. Free canoe and kayak rental. We were able to paddle around the docks and stopped at a waterfront restaurant nearby. We also... More

We really enjoyed are recent stay here. The cottage is by no means plush but very comfortable. Fairly large with a fridge, cooker and a bbq outside. You can also park right infront of your accommodation. The view is great from the dock at the rear of. The property. It is particularly spectacular at sunset. The complimentary breakfast could be... Exactly what we look for in the Keys. We don't want a sparkeling granite counter and floors. We want something to blend into the atmosphere of The Keys. Laid back and quiet blending into the scenery. That's exactly what we found. Separate clusters of units are scattered in an alcove of trees and vegetation.Don't expect paved driveways they would clash with... More

WOW! What an amazing place. We treated ourselves to a one night stay in Dolphin right on the gulf frontage and we were seriously not disappointed. The furniture in the room was not the most modern and could have done with a little refreshing however the position and the surroundings made it more than worth it. Soooo relaxing just lying... We love this place, it's nestled between a great place to have drinks and listen to a live band (Bayside grill), and a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner (Mrs Mac's kitchen), both in walking distance. This place has a series of small to larger rooms and the larger ones face the gulf, they have a small breakfast, tiki... More

This hidden gem will shock you. Quiet local, boat ramp, free kayak, and comfortable spacious rooms. Right off of US-1 so you can quickly get to your next destination. Great place to stay, they have a repeat customer for sure. Staff was super friendly and helped with directions.
