We arrived on a Saturday from Upstate NY and headed right to the Park on Sunday. We spent the day relaxing at the beach and snorkeling close to shore. We were happy with this decision and decided to purchase dry snorkel tubes, which made a world of difference. Our family of 5, consists of 3 teenagers. We made reservations for... More

Within walking distance to Publix supermarket. Restaurants are close by. Bring a good flashlight if you plan to walk. We walked to Fish House. Shopping for gifts also within walking distance. Lots of no see'ems. Bring bug repellent. Activities are in the park. Beach not great. Snorkelling is off shore and there are trips right at the park. Gift shop... More

Cute little park with lots to do. The Mangrove boardwalk was under repair during our visit. And a tropical depression hit the Keys while visiting so our activities were limited but overall, worth the money.

We lucked out and was able to get a site that someone vacated early by stopping in. It allowed us to go on the snorkel trip which we thought was outstanding. We had site number 15.it was a little tight on either side, but right next to the showers. The shower room seemed clean and the showers were hot. We... More

You have to pay to go in and it was awful. Terrible bad sewage smell and my kids hated snorkeling as the sea was full of seaweed and dirty so couldnt see amy fish and no sand just stones. Also many parts of it were closed In July?! We stayed 5 minutes and left. Go to Annie beach or Islamorada... More

Checking in was easy and everyone that I met who worked there was very pleasant and friendly. The nature trails are beautiful and make sure you bring bug spray!! Bathrooms are clean. Was a little disappointed with the water and snorkeling. There was no visibility and the water was very warm and mirky. Bring some type of water shoes/sandles cause... More

We camped at John Pennekamp in a travel trailer over the July 4 holiday. Facilities are outstanding. Very clean, modern and in great order. Camp sites are rough-looking and "natural". They are not groomed and is little privacy. No ground fires so if you want pudgies (iron pie sandwiches), you have to use the grill. Many bugs, but that's Florida.... More

The park is very nice and good for a day at the water with barbecue and everything. You also can book different tours inside the park. I did the snorkeling at the reef tour. The costs of the tours are very low. You even can rent snorkeling equipment there. They have very well experienced guides for the tours. They help... More

This is a great national park where you can take a boat and snorkel with turtles, camp out, catch some rays on the beach and explore the mangrove. It's right at the beginning of the keys and very untouched nature.
