We just got back from our most recent visit to Kona Kai. I have been coming there since they opened in the early 90's, and it just keeps geting better and better. The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful thanks to the botanical gardens. The staff is beyond great and helpful, and whichever room we stay in, it is absolutely... More

This relaxing and charming hotel was the perfect spot for our honeymoon! The sunset, which we watched from the hotel dock each night, was like nothing I've seen before. The owner gave us recommendations for places to eat and suggested we go kayaking through mangrove channels in John Pennekamp Stare Park. I highly recommend!!! The grounds are beautiful.

We stayed here at Kona Kai for a couple nights during our first trip to the Keys. From the moment we drove in we could tell that we were in paradise. The grounds are beautiful and maintained to perfection!! We enjoyed everything there is to offer including the pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, kayaks, fresh fruit, complimentary bottles of water, beach towels,... More

This is a romantic, beautiful and peaceful slice of paradise among the hustle bustle of the keys tourism. The Ethnobotanical Tour of the property is a must and the rooms are lovely. The staff goes beyond the call of duty to meet every need a make your stay a treasured memory. As former innkeepers ourselves we look forward to returning.

This was our second visit to Kona Kai; it was as lovely and peaceful as we remembered. The resort is lovely and immaculately kept. The gardens, the bay front and pool area are simply wonderful. Yes, the staff is friendly, professional and attentive. But, for us, Kona Kai is more about the relaxing atmosphere that has been thoughtfully crafted by... More

Came here for a weekend to visit my friend who manages the gardens here. I don't usually stay at resorts but this place is pretty incredible. Everything you could want is right there and once you've paid for your room everything is included, no nickel and diming. They even have a few kayaks available for you to go out on... More

Kona Kai is fully deserving of its current #1 rating on Tripadvisor, which is the sole reason we booked there. We booked the Key Lime 2-BR Suite for 2 nights at $299.00/night plus tax (no other charges). OVERVIEW OF PROPERTY: Kona Kai is dazzling. It’s like someone took a botanical garden perfectly groomed by elves with tiny scissors and plopped... More

We went to kona Kai for 2 nights. From the time we walked onto the property, wow! The room was surprisingly fresh and clean. The grounds were manicured perfectly. The bay view from the dock was spectacular. Paddle boats and kayaks were included. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I have stayed at some nice full service resorts and... More

This was our first stay at Kona Kai. A great choice, the location is beautiful and relaxing and the staff was accommodating. This was a staycation for us and as residents of South Florida we will be returning.
