Beautiful setting. Pool and beach. 5-6 wine in the lobby then to their beach. Perfect place to view the sunset. They have kayaks to use and will arrange dinner reservations. They arranged a fishing guide that was great. It is close to lots of good restaurants and a grocery and other stores. There are BBQs outside each room with a... More

I was so excited when I found this place online and learned they had availability for our much needed yearly anniversary trip/ escape from the kids. Kona Kai is impeccable--from the cleanliness of the rooms to the service level of every staff member. They have thought of so many details, including the hammocks, beautiful gardens, spa products in the cozy... More

If you don't stay here at some point in your life, you are missing out. Unmatched is all I can think of to describe the rooms, the grounds, the gardens, pool, ocean view, amenities and extraordinarily attentive staff. Definitely the place to unravel your nerves, find some quiet and relax. And when you are ready to indulge in activities involving... More

My wife and I stayed here the beginning of May 2015. Rooms and grounds are impeccably maintained. Staff are very helpful and informative. God location for touring the area. Water and fruit by the pool and wine in the evening were a nice touch.. Beautiful sunsets!

We stayed here for 3 nights for the last portion of our honeymoon trip throughout FL. I have to say that it was a true delight and treat to stay among such a beautiful landscape and helpful/friendly staff. After traveling for 5 hours from North FL, Tracey was quick to catch us up to speed with the area - activities/dining... More

We had a wonderful, peaceful two night stay at Kona Kai. The grounds and waterfront area are gorgeous and are the perfect place to lay back and unwind. We loved walking around the grounds and being able to read the names of the extensive varieties of plants and trees. The staff was friendly and helpful and we will definitely be... More

Very poor value for your money considering the lack of facilities. There is no restaurant, and they don't even offer breakfast. Nearest good restaurant is 7 miles away. The hotel has a tiny but cozy little manmade beach, and the place is nestled in among nice trees and flowers.

Wow, Marie N, how did you miss the restaurant right across the street, Ballyhoo’s? It’s a real favorite amongst guests and locals. From vegan to local fish, it’s one of the best in town! Sorry too, that you missed our free kayaks, paddleboat, tennis court, the unlimited complimentary bottled water and fresh fruit alongside our heated pool and jacuzzi. Hopefully,... More

We had only two nights at the Kona Kai, but wish we had stayed there longer. The facilities and staff were great. The property has a dock on which we watched sunsets over the water on both nights. Our room was very satisfactory and the overall property was beautiful with great gardens. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Nearby... More

I was transformed as soon as I got there, it is peaceful and I haven't relaxed like that in years. The plants, trees, and orchids are beautiful. I suggest the garden tour, it is very informative. The view, the staff, the little touches were unbelievable and the suites were immaculate, couldn't ask for more.

Our stay at Kona Kai was wonderful - tranquil, relaxed, beautiful! We felt completely welcomed & at home. Loved taking out the paddle boat and walking through the gardens. After having a very disappointing experience at Cheeca, we were so thankful to check in to Kona Kai. I wish we had spent our entire stay in the Keys here! Friendly... More
