My boyfriend and I stayed at Largo Lodge on our first vacation together. It turned out to be wonderful. He and I wanted some place private and with no children. This resort is for people 16 and older which made it perfect. We stayed in the efficency #7. It was not large but with just two people we didn't need... more

We stayed at Largo Lodge the week of March 16. The setting is beautiful - as you enter the property, the driveway is enclosed by gorgeous trees and plants and you suddenly feel like you are so far away from the commercialism along US1. At check in, they gave us coupons for Sundowners and Fish House. The cabins are so... more

We were a party of three. We dropped by at the property, which was mentioned in one of the Florida travel guides we had. As it was 20 minuted before office closed for the night, the nice lady offered us a discount, and we had cabin n. 4 for 100$ (instead of the published rate of 125$) and the small... more

My son's and I planned a trip to Key Largo. One son had a camper and was staying at Pennekamp with his group. My other son and I decided not to make reservations and just look for a place once we got to Key Largo. We looked at several, all looked very commercial and not too nice. We just happened... more

Only stayed 1 night and pleased about that! Welcome to 1970 decor. The accommodation is large but would not want to spend any time in it as so outdated and depressing. It is set on a really nice spot (behind the lodges) and could be really nice if some money was spent on it, but as it is, its overpriced... more

My husband and I got married in the Keys in 2006 and stayed at the Largo Lodge. We wished we would have stayed there for our honeymoon instead of going to Costa Rica. We liked it so much, we went back a year later for a do over. The lodge has only a few bungalows that are nestled amidst a... more

Someone in another review said to not have great expectations of lodging in the Keys. Many properties are older and there isn't any room for expansion. Keeping this in mind, the Largo Lodge was a lovely place to stay. The property is beautiful, the owner will tell you stories of how it was once a casino site after WWII. The... more

The advertised duplex cottages do look charming (and seem so in person), but we were stuck in #7 upon arrival - not a cottage at all, but a very small efficiency attached to the lodge office. The person who made our reservation misrepresented the accomoodations we would be gettting: The only rooms advertised are the cottages with screened porches; there... more

After having submitted one review I have to make a point to add to anyone considering staying in the Keys, especially Key Largo; is to not expect too much. Key Largo is not as romantic as it sounds in the song. It is in fact touristy and kind of slummy looking; at least along highway One. So trying to find... more

A relatively nice grounds. The accommodations are, at best, fuctional. The beds and furnishings (pillows, blankets, etc.) are mediocre. Nothing wrong with the location, although Key Largo is not the highlight of the Keys, by any stretch of the imagination. Don't count on swimming - swimming area is not nice. Also, they are not particularly responsive to customer complaints or... more
