This is a dirty and dangerous place to stay. There are too many hazards to list here like soft floors, broken steps, jagged edges in the bath room, no A/C, locks don't work, dust and dirt so thick it covers the vents, to the broken central A/C, dirty rooms, on and on..... I don't understand why the town of Key... More

It could use some updating but we are easy and do not stay in the room much. Could use a real good cleaning but sheets were clean and bed comfortable. Go with medium expectation and you will be fine but again good place to lay your head and amazing sunrise.

If you're simply just looking for a place to crash while in the Keys for a medium price, it will suffice, but it is not on my recommendation list. Coffee pot and no coffee, huge sliding door that didn't lock and was partly see-through, tiny staircase built for European style luggage, not what Americans carry around, very little parking, and... This place is off the beaten path. The Floating Inn is just what it says-a floating Inn. It's a rather large boat that has been converted into a Bed-n-breakfast style rooms(minus the breakfast). Its an older boat so it does have older qualities. Nonetheless the price follows what you pay for...and for me thats perfect. I come to the Keys... More

I read the reviews before booking and thought I'd take a chance. Terrible mistake. I was not expecting the Ritz, but I do expect cleanliness at a very minimum. This "Inn" was the opposite of clean! Upon checking in, the "new" owner asked if we had been contacted by the "old" owners about the change in ownership. We had not.... More

The Floating Inn has been sold and is no longer called The Floating Inn but is now part of Key Largo Boatel. It was sold on Nov. 1, 2012 . The new owner is now taking some of his clients but we are no longer affiliated with the property. Please look at The Boatel reviews when making a decision. We... More

This place is not for big babies! But if you want a laid back time with rooms for all your friends, this is the place. Tiny beach for parties and shooting off a couple fireworks. Later make some more in the comfy king size beds and rooms with A/C. ( The slanting floors make for interesting new positions. ) We... More

I agree with Chris M. We only stayed one night, and the location could be "quaint," but for the price our room was awful. Tiny, leaning, old and smelly. The bed was good, but the bathroom was in bad shape and the level of the shower 18 inches below the bathroom.

This place is far from being in a hotel! For me and my family it was simple our vacation home. The Floating Inn is an odd place that brings you happiness. The wavy floors and the narrow steps bring character and charm to the inn. Everything in life normaly comes with a price tag however looking at the stars from... More

We had the "big" room with the King size bed. The room leans and makes you sea sick. They make you sign a waiver saying you know it leans! Getting to your room is difficult up very steep steps that are difficult to manuver. The room smells. The utensils were little plastic utensils from Burger King/McDonalds. No soap, no towels,... It is unfortunate that we had this guest with her completely unreasonable attitude but because we did not refund her deposit for a second night stay when she decided to leave early due to rainy weather she is making a fortified effort to "close our business down" as she states to us over the phone with her continued harassing calls.... I really enjoyed staying at the floating inn. After spending many nights in other standard chain motels which all look the same, it was fun staying at a place off the beaten path- a place with character and charm. We stayed on the 2nd floor and did have some trouble lugging our heavy luggage up the steep stairs, so if... More
