My husband and I were in Miami for the boat show last weekend and decided to spend the night on Key Biscayne to explore the following day. We didn't want to spend $500+ for a night at the Ritz, so we stayed at Silver Sands. It is an old motel, but the grounds are beautiful, the pool was clean, the... More

The Silver Sands is designed like an old motor court; it's in Key Biscayne, a suburban island six or seven miles by causeway from downtown Miami. The resort has a beach, though it's narrow, and a pleasant courtyard with a pool. It's less than a mile from Crandon Park, which has broad beaches, an excellent golf course, tennis courts, nature... This hotel offers a great value for the price. It is beachfront, and small (one story). It is typical of South Florida hotels in the 1960's, although this hotel is up to date, and well maintained. If you don't mind the smaller room design of classic beach hotels, you will enjoy this place. It is small, quaint, and very private.... More

This place has very nice, basic, spacious clean rooms. The garden is beautiful. The pool is really pretty. The staff were very friendly. It is right on the beach and a great, quiet location. But, the culmination of a number of important details irritated me and prevented me from giving it an above average rating. The children's play ground equipment... More

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas break and it was a great 'base' for everything to do in Miami and the Keys. The staff was helpful, it was quiet, the rooms -- though dated -- were clean and comfortable. It really helped having a microwave and refrigertor in the room along with dishes and cups. We would definitely stay... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this quaint hotel/motel on Key Biscayne. It would not be the right fit for all, however, for those that want a down home, adventure traveler experience it is great for the money. The close proximity to the beach is nice, the pool is fantastic. The immediate yard is beautiful and quaint. It was... More

Throw back to the 60's no frills hotel, but great location & comfort. Nice heated pool & beach front location. Easy access to restaurants, CVS & super market. Accommodations dated but my room was spacious & had kitchen.

This hotel is the way to go in Miami if you are looking for a private, Keys-like atmosphere. It is on Key Biscayne which is an extremely tranquil island off the busy Miami scene. We lived in Miami for 12 years and were returning with our 3 young children for a few days. This hotel has a kitchenette and beach... More

My husband and I were driving to key Biscayne without a hotel, and by searching online we found this hotel and the Ritz-Carlton. The rate for this hotel was $129 and the Ritz at $259. We were sure that the Ritz would be a better hotel but it is insane the $130 difference could be so little compared with the... More
