This was the first time I have visited Amelia Island which is a 45 minute ride from the Jacksonville Airport. The property is very similar to the Georgia and South Carolina coast line. It is very humid and warm and there are a plethora of insects. The property is huge, there is the main hotel, there are villas, there are... More

We have been coming here for years and love it. Omni has done a beautiful job renovating the resort and improving service. We love it for the ocean front villas, the friendly service, the convenience of the Tram service so you never have to drive for dinner! We love the restaurants for their ambience, service and food. This resort is... More

resort and location beautiful, pool and beach spotless…..but very disappointed with a very tired and old condo that was in need of a total makeover. All that was there was functional and useable but just needed updating…very 80"s

Very beautiful clean resort. Had a fantastic time - great beach access and restaurants. Staff very friendly - great for golf - and for just realaxing on the beach. Would recommend to anyone - plan on returning for another vacation.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The room, pools and grounds are amazing. This was my first stay at the resort and I will definitely return. I like it much better than the other resort on Amelia where I have stayed several times.

It takes too long to get in and out of the island so you end up spending a large portion of your time traveling to and from the resort! Especially when you use up 30% of the premium hours of your day getting back and forth to the resort!

Our family of 6 rented a beachwalker villa for an entire week. We came out of the week very dissappointed in the unit. It was very outdated and the upkeep was also poor. The beachwalker has it's own pool and the cleanliness of it was also very disappointing. Our family has been going to the plantation for over 15 years... More

What a wonderful resort. The staff was extremely friendly. The resort was absolutely beautiful. So much to do. Not too crowded. The pool area was awesome. We loved the family events that were offered everyday. Wonderful!

Although, I have previously lived in the area, I had never stayed at the omni. To put it plainly, I have missed out. I feel like I just discovered the difference between storebought and homegrown tomatoes. I thought I knew resorts. I didn't. I thought I knew amelia island. I didn't. And until you stay at the omni, you wont... More

My husband and 15 year old son were sailing in a 2-day regatta between Mayport and Fernandina on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. After looking at several hotels and resorts in the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach area, I decided to book a 2-Queen Oceanview Villa at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. The pictures of the resort and rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation sprawl across 1,350 beautiful and isolated acres, along Florida's north eastern coastline, just across the St. Marys River in Georgia and adjacent to the historic city of Fernandina. The Villas overlook the azure blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. Though private, secluded and protected by a gated entry, the location is a convenient 45 minute drive away from downtown Jacksonville and 29 miles from Jacksonville International Airport. Private and corporate aircraft charters can fly directly to Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, which is only four miles north of the plantation. Each villa is unique and different. Units come in varying sizes and locations, including ocean view, resort view and tennis view single guest rooms, as well as one, two and three bedroom units, ideal for larger parties, and feature fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, spacious living rooms, multiple baths and private bedrooms. Most complexes have at least one pool. Be sure to confirm the villa type, location and amenities available when booking. The villa accommodations are independently owned, but are located within proximity to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort. ... more   less
