The 3 bed/3.5 bath villa we had reserved in advance had the water shut off, so we ended up in 2 hotel rooms. The rooms were very nice, but the lack of concern from management about the villa and the food we lost because there was no where to store it was very frustrating. We were told the villa MIGHT... We love staying at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Villas for our family vacation. We went back again this year with our 5 and 8 year old children because we loved it so much last year. It is the perfect environment to spend quality time together as a family with fun for everyone. We found the staff to do their... More

I visited Amelia Island and stayed at The Villas during a conference. I was disappointed in the overall service. The location is still a great place to go relax and vacation but the property is aging and they appeared to be a bit understaffed at their restaurants.

We were there looking to purchase a unit, and the OMNI arranged for our reservation. We were in the Club Villas on the gold course. This unit was spacious , clean and well decorated. Really great. We love Amelia Island, and hope to own a villa soon!

We stayed at the plantation for the first time in many years. It looks like the have updated most of the condos. Being beach front is awesome. Loved having a kitchen and extra space to walk around. A very private and quiet place to get some R & R.

We had a wonderful time in the Sandcastle Villa phase 2. The room was more than we had expected, clean, smelled great, comfortable bed, great balcony views of the Atlantic Ocean. We ate at several restaurants on the property and enjoyed each one. We rented a golf cart for our 3 day stay,,got to see the massive property on our... More

I have had five massive/radical back surgeries. My family was put in a villa that was on 4 levels, and we were never told/warned about it. The tram that was so valuable in the past is of little to no value now with inconsiderate changes in rules.

We were expecting to stay in the hotel proper and initially were disappointed that we were not in the hotel. Then we got to the room and all that changed. the Villas has its own pool and beach access, so you are not fighting the crowds at the hotel pool and beach. it is more like condos right next to... Great service, location and facilities. Beach front villa was great. Staff was always friendly and accommodating. Very pleasant stay wish I had had more time to enjoy the location and amenities. Hope to visit again in the future.

Loved our stay. Thought we would stay in the villas because it was a family of 8 and 2 infants. However, next time around, we may stay closer to the hotel end. My only only complaint is the lack of the changing table in various locations. We loved our visit the first few times. We got married there so this... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation sprawl across 1,350 beautiful and isolated acres, along Florida's north eastern coastline, just across the St. Marys River in Georgia and adjacent to the historic city of Fernandina. The Villas overlook the azure blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. Though private, secluded and protected by a gated entry, the location is a convenient 45 minute drive away from downtown Jacksonville and 29 miles from Jacksonville International Airport. Private and corporate aircraft charters can fly directly to Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, which is only four miles north of the plantation. Each villa is unique and different. Units come in varying sizes and locations, including ocean view, resort view and tennis view single guest rooms, as well as one, two and three bedroom units, ideal for larger parties, and feature fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, spacious living rooms, multiple baths and private bedrooms. Most complexes have at least one pool. Be sure to confirm the villa type, location and amenities available when booking. The villa accommodations are independently owned, but are located within proximity to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort. ... more   less
