Just returned from our stay at the Florida House Inn. It was one of our best vacations ever. The location made it easy to walk to fine restaruants, historic points and the local museum. The staff could not have been friendlier. The Frisky Mermaid, the house bar, is home to aspiring songwriters who showcase their works on Wednesday nights. Don't... more

Back in Jan. when I was planning our vacation for Amelia Is. I was looking for a Bed & Breakfast to stay at. I found one called the Flordia House Inn. It had everything that I was looking for. As always when planning a trip I check out Trip Advisor for reviews. I was surprised to read the not so... more

This B&B was poorly maintained, incredibly dirty, and dangerous for small children and senior citizens. The television was precariously perched upon an old table posing a danger to children. Upon arrival we discovered that the pull out sofa that the website claimed came in our room was nothing more than a loveseat. The only thing that could be "pulled out... more

It was a neat place to stay because of the location and history and the mopeds are fun. I just couldn't justify the price (over $200 a night). We picked an expensive room because it was our first anniversary. Location works well because you can walk everywhere. If you stay here ask for the rooms away from the hippie bar.... more

Way overpriced! Owners don't have a clue how to run an inn. The maintenance is horrible, leaky faucets, duct taped shades, duct taped hole in an upstairs walkway, unstable outdoor stairs, lukewarm shower with slow drain that left the guest standing in cold water. "Free" breakfast was a joke! Evening waitress was so friendly and helpful, only bright spot of... more

I came here to enjoy nature and get my little fisherman close to the water. The location was great. There was so mcuh to do with my family. The nature trails are right around the corner and if you like to be on the move, on your feet or a bike are the way to go. Also there are so... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Florida House Inn and loved each moment. Our room (#18 Live Oak) was spectacular and much more than we expected. The location is great right in the heart of Centre Street. Recommend visiting the following places: O Kanes Irish Bar, Palace Saloon (stay away from the pirate punch), Beech Street Grill, and Fort... more

We are from Chicago and decided to do a road trip to Florida over X-mas break. Our first stop was Amelia Island and we stayed Sat, Dec 27th through Mon, Dec 29th. We had booked the Naples room, but were given an upgraded room, the Tallahassee, because they were doing some work to the other. It was great, on the... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Florida House Inn (for my birthday) last Saturday-Monday, and it was perfect. We arrived Saturday night around 8:30 p.m. and the restaurant in the hotel had live music and a bar, and there were lots of people. It was a neat atmosphere. The owner was there when we checked in, he was very... more
