The Seagrass is in serious need of upgrading. I stayed in one of the cottages and the shower head was built for a person who is only 4 feet tall, the bedding is in serious need of upgrading (cigarette burn holes in the sheets and the coverlette on the bed had seen better days 5 years ago). The couch was... more

Location, location, location is what makes this place so awesome! It is on the banks of the Homosassa River, the water is crystal clear and flows at a soul soothing pace. The wild life consists of eagles, egrets, gators (the scaley kind & the orange & blue kind) as well as manatee up the river and monkeys on an island just... more

Seagrass Resort was recommended by the dive operation I'd booked for some cavern diving and a manatee tour. It was described as "how Florida used to be". That assessment is pretty accurate. It's an older assemblage of individual units situated on the Homosassa River. Great place to sit and watch manatees, dolphin, and other life in the river. There's a... more

We went for 2 days and stayed in the Apartment #23. The one bedroom with Queen bed had a small chest of drawers and the bed wasn't so good. I felt like I was falling in the middle all night. Too soft! The other bed our friends were in was too hard and the AC duct is over the bed... more

We stayed here the night before our snorkeling tour with the manatees (booked through american pro diving - who suggested we stay here). It is a cute place in that it is off the main road, right on the water, and has a very fun outdoor sandbar/pub with great live music. Our room was one of the small efficiencies and... more

My husband and I traveled here to do some reminiscing. We had been 10 years ago for our scuba certification and stayed at the Best Western. We wanted to try something new and dogs are permitted, so I chose this based on that and the fact that all we really wanted was cleanliness and a quiet place to lay our... more

We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday night was very noisy and crowded from the Pub business. Next door neighbors were loud and obnoxious. Sunday was OK. Not the greatest place to go for peace and quiet on the weekend. more

We stayed one night at the Seagrass River Resort in October of 2007. It is a quiet (at least in October), shaded location directly on the Homosassa River. If you have a boat you could dock it about 15 yards from the front door of the “villa” we stayed in. Our “villa” was actually a trailer with an enclosed sunroom/porch... more

My family stayed at the Seagrass River Resort over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2007. We stayed here over the other options in the area because they allow pets in some of the units. My parents were in one of the "villas" (basically a single wide trailer with a view of the river) and my husband and I stayed in... more
