I have stayed in over four-hundred plus hotels in the last 45-years and this location (Baymont By Wyndham Gainesville) was the most disgusting hotel to date; I would be ashamed to have the brand name “Wyndham” attached to that property and strongly suggest that a corporate representative perform a surprise inspection immediately. I checked in at 4:15 pm and was assigned room “311”; however the room was not ready and was advised to come back in an hour. Upon arriving back at the hotel and entering the room around 7:30 pm, there were no towels, toiletries or comforters on the beds. I called the front desk and was advised that those items would be taken care of immediately. An hour later (8:30 pm) two very small towels and two comforters were delivered. Mind you, there were a total of two people staying in the room, so the two very small towels (no washcloths) had to be shared using the shower and bathroom sink. I have never stayed in a hotel where there weren’t ample supply of washcloths, towels and toiletries. The in-room refrigerator was warm, the TV did not work and the mattress had severe lumps in it, which caused me to wake up with a very sore back. I went to eat breakfast and there were no eggs or any items in the food warmer, no fresh fruit and a very limited supply of cereal and yogurt. The table chairs were so disgusting with dirt and staining; I didn’t dare to sit on them and left to go find a restaurant. I will never stay at that location again nor recommend it. This was a terrible experience; and this is coming from a person who likes Wyndham hotels.

How do I begin. This hotel does not live up to its Wyndham name. Run, don’t walk away from this one.! There is garbage piled high on each floor and in the parking lot. Checking in, the clerk informs me there are no towels in the room but they would be there soon. I would never let a guest enter a room with no towels. Upon entering our room besides no towels there were no cups for water or coffee. When we returned after dinner the towels were on the bed, still no cups. They were so old and tattered and the bath towels were the size of hand towels. The parking lot had people loitering. We were told that the breakfast would be available at 6:30. There was only coffee available with no cream. When I asked they said it was coming. 15 minutes later a breakfast of only hash browns and two cold cereals were available. No eggs, no sausage, no fruit, no yogurt like the clerk boasted about. The chairs in the dining area were so severely stained we had to sit on napkins. The pool was so dirty there were things growing in it. They bill your credit card $100 security deposit to make sure you don’t steal anything. It’s been 10 days and so far we haven’t been reimbursed. I called and they said there was a glitch. I urge everyone to not stay here!

There were no Queen beds and not terribly comfortable. Breakfast was not satisfactory as lodgers sneezed on food and one waffle machine meant a long wait. We ate at Cracker Barrel instead. It took over a week to release my deposit.

Very filthy, dirty, and disgusting hotel. After hours of driving on my birthday I just wanted to sleep. We booked the room because of the cheap price, what a mistake that was. First thing in the room I pulled the fresh appearing bed sheets back to find that they had not been changed from the previous tenants and had a lot of dirt, chunks of food, and hair on one side and the other side of the king bed literally had bugs in it yes BUGS!!!! After calling the manager to our room, he tried to put us in another room with two double beds. I said "no thats unexceptable, it's my birthday, I'm sleeping with my wife I want clean sheets". He came back with sheets and my wife and I had to change the sheets in our room but he never brought pillow cases so we had to use dirty pillowcases. The bathroom had hair on the floor and a old used hotel shampoo bottle proving even further the room had not been cleaned. The shower towels look like ancient blue striped pool towels with seriously frayed ends fully tattered and beaten up. The air conditioning unit in the room made such a loud racket we slept overheated and sweating. The trash cans all around the property were heaping with garbage overflowing and garbage was stacked beside. Trash and debris were strewn all across the parking lot. The floor in the dining area was absolutely disgustingly sticky. Every table and every seat were covered in food remnants from many people repeatedly using without being cleaned up at all. When I checked out I noticed he changed our room to a different number making me liable for a room that I did not stay in and that's totally unacceptable. I had to wait in line again to get this fixed. Never ever ever again will I stay in this dump and I'm warning everyone else to stay away also due to my experience.

Worst hotel that we ever stayed in. Needs a manager to look into the entire purpose of the hotel - seems like it is a place for employees and the homeless to live and eat Breakfast had no plates and when asked the staff said that they did not have any plates. We were up early to breakfast because we were traveling and wanted to leave early.

Having made the reservations more than a month ago before departing on a cruise, I was unaware of the huge preponderance of really bad reviews. I would have canceled but it was within the 48 hours when we got off the boat. I let the desk clerk know I wanted to see the room before he charged it. The room looked to be newly renovated: new paint, good bed, new curtains, resurfaced tub, gray vinyl laminate flooring in good shape. Took the room and it was happy with my one night stay. Excellent internet. Had a conversation with the clerk about the bad reviews. New management took over two months ago, he started 6 weeks ago. They have been redoing the rooms. Still some problems; management obviously doesn't have a handle on everything: Took 20 minutes to get registered because of computer problems, supply lines for the commode and sink were dripping because the contractor did a poor job connecting them (so the the bathroom floor is always damp), no hand towels because they were still in the dryer, no ice bucket, only one small trash can. No overhead light in the main room so only lights are small lamps meant for desks sitting on the low end tables and they really blind you when you are standing. This would be really annoying if staying more than a night. The microwave is plugged into entry light switched outlet so when you enter the room looking for the light switch, the microwave lights up and beeps, but no lights go on. Weird breakfast, waffle machine that works great, no cereal or milk, no coffee cream or creamer. You better like black. All this is little stuff and I would stay here again for a night, good value.

Who is the franchise owner? Where do I start. This location needs to be closed immediately. It is absolutely not safe to stay here. The entire property is run down. Check in was two hours late, the room smells like smoke and just dirty, there was one bath towel the size of a hand towel. The sink did not work, the bathroom had black mold on the ceiling, the beds are falling off the frame, the walls are damaged, the alarm clock was buzzing(had to unplug it), the lamps are scratched and look like they came from a yard sale, the floors are not clean, nothing is clean, the steps have sharp rusty edges, the front doors of the lobby are stuck open, the bell carts are broken, the floor in the lobby is filthy and slippery, there are homeless people walking all around, the "free breakfast" looked like prison food and is inedible, there is a sign hanging on the place that says $406 weekly rate and they charge almost $300 per night. There are drug deals going on in the parking lot, there are no amenities, no pool, no restaurant, no bar, no concierge, no hair dryer. We called the front desk and they said they did not believe us that there was no hairdryer and after we threatened them, they brought one to us and said everyone steals them. They also wanted to see if it was ripped off the wall??? We were there for an event and everything else was sold out so we had no choice but to stay there, horrible. How did they charge me to stay at this motel. This location also faces I-75 so the highway noise outside the front is scary. This is surely not a hotel and Wyndham has lost my business forever. I have photographs of everything.

There were mattresses laying in the parking lot all around the dumpster. The hallway on the 3rd floor had holes in it. There was an suv parked in the parking lot with several people just sitting in it for several hours with people stopping by to “talk.” There was an old camper in the parking lot with several questionable people hanging around it. We were very concerned from a safety aspect.
