We stayed in a 2 BR "penthouse", which offered lots of room for the money. Wi-fi, hot breakfast, and "snacks" in the evening that could even be dinner (on weeknights) are all included. It is conveniently located, not too far from UF, or from shopping,"dining" on Archer. That being said, it is a bit worn. The beds are comfortable, there... more

My partner and I were traveling north for the summer when our car broke down in Gainesville. The AAA mechanic took us to 2 hotels that would not accommodate our 2 cats before the Marriott Residence Inn. The desk attendant leant a sympathetic ear and quickly checked us in. Our 2 bedroom/2 bath suite was spacious, on 2 levels, with... more

The penthouse rooms were spacious, comfortable, and quiet. A/C worked well, with additional fans in rooms. Got two great nights sleep with no noise heard from adjoining rooms or neighborhood. Bedding for queen and king beds was exceedingly comfortable. Kitchen had everything you might need, with full-size refrigerator. Parking convenient and plentiful. Breakfast was a delight with hot eggs, sausage,... more

Was desperate for a room as we were attending the local NHRA event. Place demanded three night booking regardless of our use of only two nights. Looked like a condo place changed over to a motel, an OLD condo conversion. Total dump......... more

I prefer staying in Marriott brand hotels, so when I travel to Gainesville, the options are somewhat limited. This hotel isn't a bad place overall, but it could use some work. The front desk staff seems to be consistently friendly and helpful. I have stayed here three times and never had any issues with the front desk. The rooms are... more

I stayed here for two nights for business, and I wished I had booked a totally different hotel. It's sort of away from the city center. The guy at the front desk was very nice, but the whole place looked like an run down apartment complex. My room had a loft and two queen sized beds, two bath rooms. The... more

I cannot imagine how someone could stay here and think it is acceptable. My family stayed here recently and none of the four of us slept the entire night. We woke up every half hour and could not wait to leave in the morning. I have never felt more unsafe. It looks like an old apartment complex that has been... more

This was an oasis among numerous other hotels. Located just outside the city limits makes it a quieter location. The included full breakfast buffet to the happy hour on Mondays thru Thursday (beer and wine) only adds to the unbelievable experience. The rates were great as we were visiting the UF hospital the manager was kind enough to extend it... more

I have never seen such a trashy Marriott. There was a lamppost that had fallen in the middle of a walkway and was left there. Our room was very cramped, not even enough space for a night table next to the bed. The ironing board was half-size. When we opened up the pullout couch, there was no bedding to be... more
