This beautiful Inn was actually a Queen Anne house, originally known as Swearingen House. The house was originally built in 1903 for Thomas J. Swearingen. Swearingen, who owned one of the first automobile dealerships in Gainesville, lived in the original house for fifteen years. Now the house is home to Pat and Tom who run the bed and breakfast inn... We were fortunate to book a room at Camellia Rose Inn this year - our third visit total. We had the Lady Claire room which was perfect for our needs - a nice clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Pat and Tom are terrific hosts and we enjoyed breakfast both days. There was plenty of water and cold drinks on hand... More

This was my third visit to this beautiful B&B and it was fantastic. Pat, the gracious owner, let my friend and I stay in the cottage, even though we were only staying for one night, and it was delightful! The turret room was bright and lively, and we both slept well with the dual accommodations. The full kitchen was convenient... More

This is our favorite place to stay in Gainesville! We've stayed about a half dozen times and each stay has been wonderful. Very personalized service in a beautiful bed and breakfast. Their breakfasts are the best way to start you day in Gainesville!

Stayed there over July 4, and had a wonderful time in very comfortable room. Our room had its own balcony, which we really enjoyed. Pat looks out for the little things that make a b&b really great. Wonderful place to stay, breakfast was excellent. If you stay there have Pat tell you the story of buying and renovating the old... More

My husband and I stayed at The Camilla Rose for a weekend get away. We stayed in the Starlight room with a private balcony. Pat was very welcoming and knowledgeable about great restaurant to eat at within walking distnce. We very much enjoyed evening wine and snacks as well as sitting on our balcony enjoying morning coffee and late night... More

First, I have to admit that this was my first B&B experience. But if most bed and breakfasts are like this one, I may never stay in a hotel ever again. Pat, the owner, sets the bar pretty high. We were visiting for a wedding and she made us feel right at home from the start. The old Victorian home,... More

The Inn is beautiful and comfortable and lies within a short walking distance of historic Gainesville and the restaurant district. The hosts are warm and friendly, funny and helpful and you get a chance to meet other guests during a lovely cocktail hour for wine and nibbles, to which all guests are invited. Wonderful beds and bathrooms, tea and cookies... More

We have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts and this one ranks up there with the best overall experience. Beautiful house with many common areas to relax. Great location within walking distance to the center of town where there are a lot of good restaurants and bars. Accommodations were lovely as was the food. Pat does a great job making... More

We visited Gainesville over Memorial Day Weekend, to attend a friend's graduation from Vet School. Since we took the whole family (and our three kids have four legs each) we are usually limited to La Quinta, which is the only chain with all pet-friendly locations. The Camellia Rose Inn was a quantum leap in quality and convenience. They have a... More
