As Gainesville residents, my wife and I were looking for a Bed and Breakfast in our town to get away. This meticulously restored Victorian era home near downtown is very close to great dining and entertainment. Peggy and Monta paid attention to every detail and made us feel right at home. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with all... More

My husband surprised me with this visit and it was just wonderful. We stayed in the library and it was perfect. Modern updates with a definite old world feel. The owners Monta and Peggy were very welcoming, as though we were friends in for a visit. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and the walk is beautiful. The... More

My husband and I arrived at The Laurel Inn after a day of headache-making, car-buying negotiations. Monta and Peggy greeted us so warmly and the house was so beautiful and comfortable that our stress simply melted away. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants (including menu items) which we followed with happy results! The breakfast was amazing. Peggy is a... More

Stayed in the Lilac room this trip with a nice balcony. Peggy and Monta are delightful hosts. The accommodations were welcoming and the breakfast delicious and plentiful. Location was convenient as I was in town on business with the University. Will definitely return the next time I am in Gainesville.

This inn is modern, but with old-world touches. It has been beautifully restored by the owners, who make every effort to make you feel at home, from the happy hour each day to the delicious home-made cookies, to the really delicious breakfast. We had a lovely room with our own, very private porch. Everything is spotlessly clean, the sheets are... More

A family medical emergency caused my daughter & I to find ourselves in Gainesville with only the Shands hospital as a base. We found The Laurel Oak Inn here on TA, & were fortunate enough to find a vacancy in a lovely room - Lily. I can't describe how kind Manta was, from getting our room ready early so we... More

We were hoping to stay at this beautiful B&B, stopping on our way from Miami to New Orleans. We showed up without a reservation and unfortunately it was fully booked. In fact, the whole town was booked due to the graduation party of local university. But Monta and Peggy were so kind that they invited us in, offered us wine... More

Our weekend away at the Laurel Oak Inn was absolutly PERFECT! The Inn is simply beautiful and the innkeepers, Monta and Peggy are just wonderful. They were very helpful when we were looking for things to do, and made great suggestions for our evening meals. The property is very beautiful and they have done a great job respecting the age... Monta and Peggy rescued us from modern America gave us a taste of old South hospitality. Laurel Oak Inn is a beautiful inn, with all the modern amenities and all the luxuries of the past. Gainesville is in a beautiful part of Florida but all you will remember is your stay in this fine inn.

I stayed in Laurel Oak Inn for two nights and it really was like an oasis for me. The house is an old Victorian style house beutifuly restored with all the modern comforts.
