My wife and I loved everything about the The Laurel Oak Inn. Our room was large, comfortable yet with a cozy feel. Loved the Tempurpedic Bed! Monte and Peggy, the Inn Keepers, were always available to answer questions and showed genuine concern about out trip. Delicious Food began each day, and the chocolate cookies at night were wonderful.

Everything about our stay at the Laurel Oak Inn was wonderful. Monta and Peggy Burt are warm and inviting. The room we stayed in was clean and cozy. The house and grounds are beautiful, and the breakfast was the best I've ever had in Gainesville. When friends and family come to visit, if they don't stay with us at our... More

We've looked at them all, stayed at several, and have concluded that The Laurel Oak Inn is the best B&B in Gainesville. Its small size allows the attentive owners to provide incredibly personal service. It's a special place, and we'll be back.

My family experienced an incredibly difficult loss, and needed a place to stay near the hospital. During one of the most trying times in our lives, the Laurel Oak Inn was a haven to be able to relax and sleep peacefully after very long days. Monta and his wife were incredibly accommodating for us. Thank you so much! Would definitely... More

The Laurel Inn is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting in Gainesville. The location is perfect to downtown, campus or just a lovely run around the neighborhood. Monta couldn't be anymore accommodating whether helping with directions, or making reservations for dinner. Breakfast was superb and all dietary requests were met without any problem. Every room is beautifully... More

My husband and I spent our first night as a married couple at The Larel Oak Inn and we enjoyed every minute we were there. Monta and Peggy were very welcoming and wonderful hosts. Our room had it all...claw foot tub, gas fireplace, porch with rocking chairs and a comfortable bed. We enjoyed walking down town for dinner along the... More

What attracted this 19th century house was how it was converted into a wonderfully decorated inn with a real character that reflects the owners' taste. All homemade breakfast had made my stay really homely with wine and beer free for consumption. After two days of stay at LOI, I miss it as if I miss my own home!

There is a reason why this B&B has a 99.99% "Excellent" rating by travelers, and that's because it really is an excellent choice. It's a beautiful late 19th century home that has been meticulously restored by the owners, a short 6 block walk from Main St. in the historic section of Gainesville. What really made our visit special were the... More

As with a painting by Picasso, one cannot imagine how the finished product could be anything other than what it is: Pure perfection. Monta and Peggy are naturals both in welcoming you into their inn which - as it is also where they reside - is akin to welcoming you into their home. Wonderful rooms, wonderful beds, wonderful bathrooms, wonderful... More

The Laurel Oak Inn has become our first choice when my wife and I need a place to stay in Gainesville. Monta and Peggy somehow manage to please both of us with delicious but not overly-fancy breakfasts. The bed is always comfortable. The tub is always relaxing after a long day spent exploring the north Florida woods or rivers. On... More
