Lovely property with surprisingly excellent food and service. Recently attended an event and was amazed that there was some place so pretty (lovely glassed in garden room) with such good foods. I usually hate buffets but they did it with service so you got your food when it was hot and the servers controlled the speed of the lines. I... More

It's difficult to put into words how wonderful the Sweetwater Branch Inn truly is. My husband and I were in Gainesville visiting our son who attends the University of Florida. We rented the Victoria cottage for six days: living room, kitchen, bedroom with king-sized bed, large bathroom and even a jacuzzi on the back porch (everything is included that one... More

This was our second visit and it was as great as our first. My son got married in OCT 2013 and this time we were back for my daughter in-law's brothers wedding. The property is a southern hidden gem. The grounds are beautiful and the cottages are a throwback to old southern charm. They are decorated very nice and make... More

We attended a wedding here. The grounds were so pretty! The food was very good. I loved the chicken with olives and the beef was unbelievably tender. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet! Everything tasted so great my kids even ate their veggies! Beautiful setting for a wedding.

Within a half hour of departing, the front office called my cell to ask the most insensitive and absurd question I've ever gotten from a hotel (and I've traveled the world)..."Can you tell me what the stains are on your towels?" WHAT? I was so stunned I stupidly explained that since my teen has cerebral palsy, I need to help... More

We are so sorry that this was your experience. We would like to clarify for readers, that your retelling of this incident is a mixture of two separate conversations during which our staff conducted themselves with the utmost respect for yourself and your daughter. The intention in contacting you was to avoid having to discard linens. In addition, if we... More

I had the best day of my life at Sweetwater this March! I had my wedding reception on their beautiful property and stayed at their Honeymoon Cottage. Everything went perfectly and my guests had a blast. Many stayed at Sweetwater and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast together each morning. I highly recommend staying at Sweetwater anytime but especially on special... More

The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished in period pieces. The food was excellent! I stay there on a Road Scholar program and the B & B furnished all but one of my meals. There are two houses and a number of cottages in this B & B complex. There is also a pool and gardens -- a lovely spot.

Dorothy - Thank you for staying with us! We hope you enjoyed the Road Scholar program you attended. We love hosting educational tours! I will check on the grab-bars in our rooms to make sure all guests feel safe when they are showering. We appreciate the feedback, and hope we see you again soon! More

We only stayed here for one night. This is a collection of houses/cottages in the historic east side of Gainesville, just a 5-10 minute walk from the lively downtown area. There are two main houses next to each other, plus 6-7 cottages on the grounds. It's not a traditional B & B where the innkeepers are on-site and give you... More

Thank you for the review! We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are glad you were able to enjoy the experience we provide our guests. I recently stayed at the Sweetwater Branch Inn and we had such a pleasant stay that it will now be our go-to place when visiting Gainesville. I loved the room (Isadora) and the hike to the third floor was good for me. I loved having coffee and water readily available near the room. The breakfast was good and the room... More

We stayed in the Isadora room. It was lovely! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. A serene koi pond is in the garden along with several arbors. It was too cold to swim but there was a very nice pool. Breakfast is served buffet style and was delicious! Loved their Sweetwater Coffee.

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad you were able to enjoy most of what our property has to offer. Our pool is heated during cold months, so next time you are here give it a try! I think you'll be surprised how nice a warm pool is in the winter. We look forward to hosting you again soon! More
