My son and I decided to ride the MKT-Katy Trail over the October 11-12 weekend and stayed at Joey's Birdhouse B&B on Sunday evening. After the ride from Rocheport into McKittrick, this place was a welcome sight! It's right on the Katy, and has easy access for bikers including secure storage for your bicycles. The room is very clean and... More

Had a great stay at Joey's in July of this year (2014). This would be a fun place to stay no matter where it was but the fact that it's right on the Katy Trail is a real bonus for trail users. We happened to be there on a night when the community was having a pot luck dinner and... More

I rode the Katy Trail with 3 of my relatives. This was 1 of 4 bed and breakfasts we stayed at on our trip. It was by far the best! Joey is a terrific cook and very friendly. She provided snacks, a clean place to sleep, and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend staying here if you find... More

I ditto all the positive comments about Joey's Birdhouse and Joey Los. We stayed here 2 days while cycling the Katy Trail and it was perfect in every way. Joey happily accommodated my vegan food request and provided delicious breakfast/snack items as well as marvelous dinners. The fresh garden vegetables and local fruit were delicious. Joey's Birdhouse is a truly... More

Fantastic people and a great place to stay. We stayed on the stage in the second floor of the mercantile. It was very comfortable and a wonderfully unique experience. After a day on the trail, staying in the restored building was icing on the cake. Joey was incredibly hospitable. She drove us in to town for supplies when we arrived... More

A unique B&B right off the KATY Trail. This lodging reflects proprietor Joey Los' artistic and thoughtful personality. Complete with bath and cooking facilities the Bird House is a great place to wind down after a day of cycling on the KATY Trail. Joey is very accommodating offering rides into town, produce from her garden, and home-cooked or self-cooked breakfasts.... More

We rode from North Jefferson to McKittrick and it was nice to stay in a place right off the trail. This was an outstanding bed and breakfast very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed how the buildings were restored wihile keeping their orginial charm. The entire property was very relaxing and it was fun to look around and see all... More

We biked on the Katy Trail July 25-26, 2014. Joey's Bird House is close to the Trail; very convenient. Joey is super; she delivered much more than she promised. Breakfast was awesome, delivered family style. The Bird House is spotlessly clean. We slept well and had an absolutely incredible experience. We even got help with a minor bike repair! We... More

Joey's Birdhouse is not the Motel 8. It is a charming reflection of it's owner, Joey Los. Every aspect of this bed and breakfast is fresh, simple and creative. Two tiny cottages sit directly on the Katy trail. The breakfast provided is ample, homemade and delicious (always different--but count on fresh fruit, homemade bread, jams, jellies, cheese etc.) plus French-press... More

Sorry Joey, because Joey seems like such a nice person but I cannot give this B&B a high rating because the place was dirty and we felt insecure during our stay. The door has a combination lock with a simple combination and once you are inside the door can still be unlocked. There is not deadbolt or override to lock... More
