This is not a fancy hotel, but we didn't want to pay the cost for a fancy hotel on the beach! It's a cute, old school hotel with a variety of room types. It had everything we needed. The location is in the thick of things and is a really easy stroll to the beach. We spent 6 nights here... More

We stayed overnight at the Shipwreck on our way to the Keys. After driving from Clearwater, we needed to find a place to stay near the ferry for our trip early the the next morning.Honestly I am thankful it was only one night. First I will say this was in a prime location. The inlet it is located on is... More

This little motel is a nice little secret. They are very accommodating and have a wonderful store connected to the motel itself. We like to stay in a separate cottage that they have occasionally available. It was a wonderful experience for my family The staff is top notch and from the area. It's top notch for the value.

We stayed at the shipwreck for a very short weekend. This seemed to be the best rated hotel due to area. Well, all I can say is that the "area" in that it's close to everything is the ONLY thing they have going. The "office manager" at check in in the pirate store was very rude. The hotel room was... My husband and I stayed overnight during piratefest in order to not risk driving after a few drinks. What a friendly welcome! I was surprised by how clean the rooms were and what an easy walk to downtown, beach, shopping and even a 7-eleven. Yes the rooms are a little dated...but I found it very charming and you can sit... As the title says. Old is OK, but they really need to do some updating to this place. Tropical colors do not always make for a great visit. The price was right. The location was very good. Not one place in the room to hang clothes. A mirror on the wall could have been replaced with a small clothes hanger.... More

My friends and I stayed here sober would not have to drive back home after we had girl's night out. I would definitely come back. I got a great deal on a room- that was nothing mind blowing but clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were right by the pool which was nice. I loved the dock out back where... More

This being a last minute trip for us, not sure what we would get...we're pleased with the results. We weren't looking for anything fancy so Shipwreck met our needs. It is a bit old (probably a happening place in the past based on its location), but was clean, beds were comfy, on site parking (although we now know a car... More

You check in for the motel at the store on Old San Carlos Blvd. The rooms are located down a cobblestone alley behind the store, opening up to the harbor/canal behind the store. The rooms are in a very cute, quiet area along or near the harbor. Colorfully painted, and furnished "beach-style", it's a very pleasant experience unless you want... More

We were in Fort Myers (our first time) visiting with family. The beach hotels were pretty packed and. $206 a night at the Shipwreck Motel was the best we could do. Our room smelled dank and was sparsely furnished--only one night table, no headboard for the bed. But it's the beach so we bought a scented candle from the honky... More
