This great fun hotel has a whole list of things to like about it. The rooms are good size with modern kitchenettes with large microwave and large fridge, sink, cabinets, etc. One of the things I really like about the rooms is that they've all got nice ceramic tile floors. Sooo much better for sandy beach rooms. Carpeting gets sticky,... more

Booked 2 nights and had to cancel 1 night followed the cancellation policy they had taken both nights on charge card. It was a challenge to get the 1 night refunded it took asking in person and several phone calls. I was charged 202.79 a night and received a refund of 183.79. With what I had to go through to... more

Have vationed there 20+ times because the location is perfect. Right by the pier, direct beach access, restaurants within walking distance...but now TOO expensive. Sheets and towels are worn, air conditioning is loud, at these costs, things should be better maintained. High costs rqual more luxury and not roughing it. Bring ear plugs to sleep! more

We loved the Beacon Motel! Last summer I flew down from NYC with 3 friends and we stayed in a room on the second floor. The location is perfect, you are right on the BEACH! At night we would go out on the town to the local bars, it was a classic "beach-town". The staff at the desk were very... more

Disappointment is the word that captures my experience at the Beacon. Keep in mind that I travel a lot and have stayed in many a hostel as well as better hotels. Many items were "skimped" on...the most annoying being that we were given a third of a roll of toilet paper to last our stay with no spare. When we... more

I cannot understand anyone who "loves" this place. Personally, when I'm paying nearly $170/night, I expect, at the minimum, to have toilet paper in the room. (The Beacon didn't have any, and the very rude staff wouldn't give us a roll. Brings a whole new meaning to Seinfeld's "can't spare a square"!) The towels and sheets are threadbare, with holes... more

I had heard about the Beacon Motel (also known as Beacon Beachfront Bed and Breakfast) but was skeptical so drove to the motel and asked to see a room. I was shown room #9 (Starfish) and liked what I saw and took it. It had a partial view of the beach. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, and had... more

We have been going to FMB for a few years now and we have found our home away from home!! The rooms are clean, the location is VERYconvenient (if you plan on a vaca of beach, bars and restaurants, then a car is not really necessary), the staff is fantastic, breakfast is included at the restaurant next door (up to... more

The Beacon Motel was recommended by the staff at Key West Express. It proved to be the best part of our trip. The first evening we enjoyed the sunset as we dined at the restaurant on the beach. It was very covenient for our early morning departure on the Key West Express. Our family spent the final morning planning extended... more

We were staying in Tampa Bay and wanted to visit Key West. We realised that the Hydrofoil from Fort Myers left early each morning so we decided to book into the Beacon to catch the boat to Key west on the following morning. We were sorry we were only using the beacon as an overnight stop as it was delightful... more
