Definitely nostalgic & comfortable. Maria in the office was so friendly and helpful. We did some fishing and grilling. The grounds were well maintained and clean. This gem exceeded my expectations. We would stay there again.

The nostalgic feel is unique. Afternoon respite on our own lakefront porch could last forever! The comfort level of the cottage makes the chain digs boring and bourgeois! Our Front Office Greeter knew that authenticity is the key to memerable lodging hospitity. Thank You!!

I spent there with my girlfriend one night, we were passing through Fort Myers. We were excited to spend the night in the house on the lake. However, it soon turned out that this place is not close to the standards that is required in the 21st century. We are a non-smoker persons. Late in the evening in a house... More

We are sorry for the inconvenience of the smoke detector noise, but we assure our guest that it is important to have them in each room for everyone's safety. Tthey are inspected weekly, but at times the battery do go bad in between our inspections. We are extermely sorry that we weren't able to respond as quickly as you would... More

We stayed here and found that it was a great value the mother of you had made it sound a little bit less attractive but it was very clean and the view of the water and the surrounding area is very charming

"Charming" is a great word for Rock Lake, thank you! Speaking of the water, did you get a chance to take the canoe out on the river while you were here? Come back and see us! More

We had a terrific 3-night stay here. Others comments about it being from a charming earlier time are right. We were in a cottage by a pond with fish and fountains--French doors open to give a view of it. Right after we got there a great blue heron that had been wading caught a fish and we got to see... What a treat. We were riding through the town looking for our motel and there stood a small building...nothing out of the ordinary....that is until I walked in and spoke to the manager Heather. Again, what a treat. She assured me my wife, who,was waiting in the car would me delighted. She couldn't have been more correct. We turned into... More

Rock Lake Resort harkens back to an earlier time. Our sixth stay in th last 12 years, and we love it. Kid friendly. Fed fish and turtles, swam in the pool, played tennis and pingpong, canoed out Chief Bowlegs Creek to the river and had real dolphins swimming and surfacing alongside, hiked the nature trail with my five-year-old to see... We travel often and generally find that most of our stays are good, some better than others. However, this place was the most miserable night we have spent anywhere. The mattress was like sleeping on a pillow, way too soft, so we ended up sleeping on the floor. The overhead light glared like you were caught in headlights. The shower... More

We recently spent 5 nights (March, 2014) at RLR. In a year's time if you asked me where we stayed in Ft. Myers I bet I won't remember. Why? Because there's nothing terribly wonderful or disastrous about it. Yes, the sound of the water/dolphins is relaxing. Everyone seems to use/enjoy their patios that surround the little lake, esp. for coffee... More
