We stayed here years ago and it felt older and dated. It is apparent that they are spending a lot of time and money on updates and it is now quite nice..!! The use of the recently updated pools is a big plus. (They are only open I think from dawn to dusk)... Since it is a retirement community, I... More

on a recent trip to visit my granddaughter, a student at FGCU, I found all the nearby hotels filled and seasonal rates through the roof. I checked on Trip Advisor to find another convenient place to stay for one night and found Shell Point Guest House. I was leary since the word guest house/cottage always brings up images of old... Nice very large room with access to the outside, great beds and pillows, great lighting. Very quiet setting. Unique location near Ft Myers Beach and Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Property is well maintained, beautiful pool and walking paths all around. Nice cycling trails. No fridge or microwave. Very friendly reception. Gated community makes you feel very safe.

When the listing said it was connected with a senior community we did not expect it to be a large village unto itself! Quite an impressive area. The grounds are amazing. Our room was immaculate, roomy and close to a large swimming pool and walking paths along the waterway to watch the dolphins. Restaurants on the grounds and laundry facilities.... More

The three of us stayed for three nights in the Guest House at Shell Point in Fort Myers, very near the Gulf of Mexico, and convenient to Sanibel and Captiva. It is an award-winning retirement community, but there is a motel-style two-story guest house. My room was clean, quiet, well maintained and had all necessary amenities. We ate breakfast each... We love the Guest House! Nothing fancy, but is conveniently located near Sanibel, and not far from Fort Myers Beach. My parents live at Shell Point, so it's wonderful to be so close by. There is a walking path around the island, and a gorgeous new salt water pool just steps away.

Beautiful pool, on the gulf coast very serene and clean. Would highly recommend especially on a family emergency. Very accommodating with basic essentials. Has its own bank, laundry rooms, restaurants and medical facility.

Registration courteous and friendly, room large, clean and comfortable. Very convenient while visiting friends and family at the Shell Point retirement community. They just remodeled the pool and it is wheel chair friendly.

Since we were only here for a few days, it served our needs perfectly. Coffee @Island cafe. Enjoyed the morning sun, then heading to Sanibel for the day after a few minutes drive. Perfect spot. Great location.

This is the place to stay if you have family members living at Shell Point. It is walking distance to most of the independent living residences and it is right next door to King's Crown (assisted living) and just across the drive from the Pavilion (skilled nursing). There is a beautiful new aquatic center (large pool, spa) just steps away... More
