I stayed here one night after a cruise. Arrived about 9.00am and was able to get my room straight away. Beautiful room (540) in South Tower with view of beach. Staff were terrific and very helpful. Used Priceline US$97 (with taxes & fees) and was more than satisfied. The Jungle Queen boat ride leaves from across the road and is... more

Stayed here at both the front and back end of our honeymoon cruise. Noisy hotel with old windows and not the greatest rooms. The lack of elevators is absolutely astounding as is how their stairs are set up! Definitely stay clear of this place if you are looking for quiet, relaxing time. Our room was not ready when it was... more

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper in Fort Lauderdale. I was somewhat apprehensive about staying here due to some other reviews I'd read, but it really wasn't all that bad. I booked with Priceline, so of course I didn't know that this would be my hotel until my bid was accepted. For 3... more

Mu husband and I just got back from a brief, but absolutely wonderful stay at the Yankee Clipper. We were supposed to leave Sunday , but the weather was so gorgeous, and we were having a great time, we decided to extend our stay until Monday. The hotel was very accomidating on this and we were able to keep our... more

Scheduled renovation in June 2009. If you are planning a stay here before renovations begin, stay in the Beachside building -- it is newer and closer to the beach. The staff was incredibly accommodating (especially the concierge). This place is old and in need of renovation, particularly the main building which is about 60 years old. The location is great... more

Renovations should have started 10 years ago. This place is a dump and there's not a breath of fresh air throughout the building. The one bright spot was the front desk staff, very friendly and helpful. Sheraton should be ashamed of themselves. more

Solo traveller. Had a room with a view. Was very satisfied and quality of service was just great. Location is great. One of the view central hotels with beach access and nearby the Water Taxi stops. Will keep it to that as the hotel will be renovated from Jun-09 till Jan-10, and my review won't be of much interest for... more

Never been to americ before and this hotel is just how I imagined American hoels to be - big, very friendly and helpful, happy and plenty of food!!! lol Really enjoyed our stay here - 3 nights out of an 18 day roadtrip - the hotel is very big but the rooms are lovely -no balconies and the glass is... more

The service was friendly and efficient. But the rooms and interior of the hotel was disappointing: the carpets appeared musty and mouldy, the rooms either too cold or too warm. There was no access to an outside balcony or to an adjacent small garden, to get some fresh air. The hotel restaurant is dark. There is a bar on the... more

We stayed one night at the Yankee Clipper in April after a cruise. I was a little concerned after reading reviews but I liked the looks of the hotel and location & I saw it was coming up a lot on Priceline. So I gave it a shot and sure enough, that's what I got on my Priceline bid. I... more
