We made a last minute decision to go to Ft. Lauderdale last weekend. Despite the price I decided to splurge and booked a room at the Lago Mar. We weren't disappointed. The room itself was very nice, and had an ocean view. Not a huge panorama, but you could look out at the beach and see the ocean. Very nice.... more

Myself, and two of my three daughters ages 13 & 17 stayed at the Lago Mar Resort from Feb 24th to the 27th, three nights. Wife stayed home due to an issue with the dog. We just returned from Lago Mar 2/27/09 with mixed reviews. The beach was very nice and staff very friendly. It's all the other things that are lacking from a so called 4 star hotel. We were verbally assaulted at the pool for taking someone's chair which hadn't been used for two days but was "saved"?. We complained twice about reserved... more

The minute we walked into the lobby I knew we made the right choice. The hotel, while older, has retro-Florida charm with all the modern touches that make a hotel stay memorable. We had a few families stay together at the Lago Mar for two nights before going on a cruise and the experience was fabulous. My sister said she has never felt so relaxed so quickly on a vacation! We went to this hotel for a long weekend getaway to relax. The hotel was clean (room and common areas) and the staff was friendly.
