We just returned from Lago Mar 2/27/09 with mixed reviews. The beach was very nice and staff very friendly. It's all the other things that are lacking from a so called 4 star hotel. We went to this hotel for a long weekend getaway to relax. The hotel was clean (room and common areas) and the staff was friendly. Booked the Lago Mar after reading the reviews at Tripadvisor and have to say that I was really feeling good at this resort. The hotel as such is in a great location in Southport. It has a very nice private beach, unfortunately the weather was really bad so we could not swim in the ocean, but only in the pools.... more
