This place on the pictures looks totally different than what it looks like in person. It was not a hotel it was a motel, and my wife and I were going to stay here for our 1 year anniversary and we had to go even though we paid for it. It was just a dirty place, the sheets were yellow,... More

I'm a return guest.Old Florida tropical vibe , 2 minute walk to beach ( quiet section ), north of spring break crowds. Great cocktails @ W, next store - giant firepit on terrace over looking beach.(be carefull of full moons ) Had complementry coffee in Tiki Hut every morning , attractive girls at front desk ,must be former uber models.Good... Did not like this place. This was recommended by Tripadvisor. This was the only place I could find for one night. It was strictly a place to crash but no place to spend time in. Floor was not clean, all sandy. Tv didn't work. Very noisy. Could here people coming and going all night long. Air conditioner and refrigerator rattled... More

Stayed 1 night, Jan 2013. Had a much similar experience at another small nearby hotel the night before. Old property that has some rooms converted into apartments. Room looked good and was clean, but mechanical problems were present. Next door furnace/air conditioner vibrated awfully the whole night long. Shower was barely adequate. Sink drain was not functioning.

We arrived a day before my reservation was actually for(my mistake)& Heidi made every effort to accommodate us and did. It's cozy and lush green atmosphere made me feel like I was at home. Las Olas Blvd and all bars/ restaurants in between are walking distance. I will always stay here when returning to Ft. Lauderdale. Fyi, bring your own... More

I booked for the Martindale in March 2012, my husband underwent EMERGENCY surgery the night before we were to leave. I called Booking.com from the emergency room to inform them of the situation. They attempted to work with the hotel, I wasn't asking for a refund, maybe a credit for a future night due to the circumstances at hand. The... More

I've been to the Martindale for several years now and with each visit I keep hoping they will have spruced it up but instead each time I visit it keeps looking more run down. I can quickly name a few issues I encountered: peeling bathtub finish (can't take a bath), windows that were cracked and couldn't close properly so you... More

Wow, is this place ever ready for the wreaking ball! What a decrepit, tired, filthy dirty, run down, trapped in the 50's dump. There were more tiles broken on the floor than not and was it ever filthy! A quick walk across the tile floor and my white socks were black on the bottoms. The bathroom was something out of... More

Better than Sandy Shores. Stayed at Sandy Shores (on the way to the Florida Keys) the previous weekend and had booked one night on the return trip at Sandy Shores again. The rooms were double booked so they moved us to the Martindale instead. We needed a two bedroom and they gave us two adjoining rooms. This was a large... More
