I stayed at the Everglades International hostel in february of 2015 and I enjoyed my stay. Just outside of the everglades in florida city the location is really more suited if you have a set of wheels. The tours don't seem to be apart of the Hostel anymore but are still advertised as it's clear there is a change in... More

The worst ! I really don’t get all the positive reviews The place is a rathole. We paid 75$ for a private room with shared bathroom The room smelled like a fake perfume to make it look like it’s clean, but it wasn’t, and it gave us a headache. They have a shared kitchen, but nothing to make pancakes as... More

We traveled around Florida during the 2014 Christmas holidays, and my 16 year old rated the 'hostel experience' as the best part of the whole trip, even outrating South Beach and the Keys. There was a perfect blend of international, experiential, and backpacker type travelers to keep the visit exciting and fresh. We originally were in a private room, we... More

Just back from another week's stay at this wonderful place. It's both ideally located for trips to The Keys or The Everglades, but is also a wonderful destination for complete and utter relaxation. You meet the nicest people, and many are on exciting journeys. It's fun cooking and eating with everyone and hearing their stories. You can bunk with other... More

If you're looking for something different check out the Everglades Hostel. I had been there when it first opened and it continues to transform and amaze. SUPER laid back, hostel, world travelers, so if you're looking for hotel type thing it's not for you. If you want to soak under a water fall, swing on the tree swing, cross a... More

No matter where you travel, you will never find a hostel like the Everglades International Hostel. How many hostels offer a gazebo and treehouse where you can sleep for a reduced rate? How many hostels have an enclosed courtyard with a gorgeous waterfall that offers peace and sanctuary from the fast-paced world outside its walls? How many hostels offer mind-blowing... More

When I first arrived I completely felt welcomed. The people who work/live there are some of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met. They are warm and kind and love where they live and and it's no surprise. I instantly felt like I was one of Peter Pan's 'lost boys' when I went out back. I went straight to... More

This hostel is a joyous place to stay. They have a range of accommodation, from camping in their beautiful yard through to secluded private chalets, all set in relaxed surroundings. We spent 3 nights in one of the double suites and had our own kitchenette, pool and gardens. The tours run from the hostel are also excellent. Our first experience... More

When you are traveling solo, it's important to talk to real people. Here, on a busy weekend, not everyone talks to everyone else, because so many people are traveling as a group and they tend to stick together. But the picnic tables make it easy to start conversations, especially with the shared pancake breakfasts, and the groupings of furniture, outdoors,... More

My children and I, spent a very good time at the Everglades International Hostel in Florida City during the recent Halloween weekend. Besides the very friendly hosts and all the crew members, always willing to help you with information and reccomendations on the surrounding area, the place itself is an absolute oasis in a city in the middle of the...
