We were totally impressed with the Blue Heron Inn. It would be tough to match the beauty, location, food, and hospitality. Julie even made that all better! We started with lunch at Bretts, did a little shopping, enjoyed a guided tour of the museum learning about the history of Fernandina Beach, and had a delicious dinner at Espana. After a... More

We are so glad you had a wonderful time here in Fernandina Beach and at our inn. We love sending guests to our little museum because it gives them such a feel for the uniqueness of this "isle of eight flags". Wasn't it neat that they converted the old jailhouse to the museum? Hope you enjoyed your golfing and we... More

We stayed here for a one-night romantic getaway without our young son (only kids 10+ are welcome). David, the proprietor, was gracious, friendly, and welcoming. Walking distance to shops and restaurants (many restaurants only have a beer/wine license, no liquor--so ask if you want a cocktail). Everything at the inn is top notch, from sheets to food to decor. Has... More

We enjoyed getting to know you both and are glad you enjoyed walking to all the shops and restaurants from the Inn. That seems to be our "problem" too and I find myself not wanting to cook that many dinners!! Oh well! Living in paradise, right? We hope to see you both again soon when you can stay even longer!... We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Blue Heron Inn. Julie hosted us for the week with old fashioned southern hospitality. The Inn is both elegant and comfortable. We loved the fresh flowers in the inn and the wonderful garden and landscaping. Julie supplied anything we could want for relaxation and fun. We took advantage of the bikes, the... More

Blue Heron Inn was the perfect destination for a Girls Get-a-Way Weekend. Ten long-time friends filled the entire 3-story historic inn with fun, laughter and relaxation. I felt like I stepped back in time with the wood floors, fireplaces, beautiful furnishings and wrap-around porch. We were greeted with Happy Hour poolside and a wonderful catered Low Country Shrimp Boil for... More

We loved getting to know your nine girl BFFLs. Hats off to your hubby for helping us carry out a surprise lunch on the beach. It was great your friends could enjoy the entire Inn to yourselves and enjoy all the amenties by the pool. Looking forward to your return soon. Julie More

I'm getting ready to make my reservations to return to Fernandina Beach and wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than with Julie and David, owners of the Blue Heron Inn. Last summer I spent 5 glorious days with them. I felt like I was staying in the lap of luxury, yet in the comfort of a friend's home. My room,... More

We stayed two night at this fabulous inn with nicely decorated rooms and common areas. The host couple is fantastic and very helpful. The attention to detail all around the Inn was amazing. The Happy hour in the pool area as well as the breakfast was very nice and they make sure your needs where taken care off.

We enjoyed our time here. The hosts are gracious and let you be as social, or as private as you desire. It is easy walking distance to the historic are stores and restaurants. The hosts helped make dinner reservations and suggested the best places to hike.

We only stayed one night at the inn and had to leave quickly in the morning to continue on our trip. The host was friendly and efficient with getting us to our room, making dinner reservations for us, and explaining the various amenities (pool, bicycles, etc.) that unfortunately we would not have time for . The breakfast was good and... More
