I had higher expectations for this hotel, based on the great reviews. I can say, positively, that the service was very high. No worries about that... The hotel is badly in need of a big renovation. I felt like I was in my great-grandmother's house... The bed was creeky and needs to be replaced. The bathrooms have had some renovation,... More

Beautiful hotel property offering easy beach access, comfortable rooms and excellent service. Expensive but worth the price if one is looking for exclusiveness in a wonderful setting. If searching for a quiet get away be careful. Hotel caters to both families and conventions. This can cause both a noisy and somewhat crowded conditions. Breakfast dining not up to Ritz standards... Husband and I decided on Amelia Island for 30th anniversary. With only a couple days before we were to go I decided to look for a place to stay (nothing like waiting 'til the last minute LOL). B&B's were available and some hotels in the historic district. I really wanted to be on the beach so called the Ritz-Carlton. OMG...cheapest... More

The only thing really exceptional about this hotel was the fact that it was on the beach. I think I'm probably not really the Ritz type. Couldn't self park(not a reimbursable expense for me), meals are over priced (American breakfast for 2= $50) and room was really just okay. Internet was awful! Wouldn't chose it if my conference wasn't there.

Brought family to a business convention so I was able to see it from both sides. The catering facility food was actually very good... breakfast, lunches, theme dinners as well as the snacks provided on breaks... all top shelf. However, we all laughed at the PC police listings on every food item at the buffet, warning that the roasted pecans... More

One of the very best hotels that I have ever stayed at. Service is impeccable! Food was consistently excellent. The pool is wonderful, too. Lots of activities. My husband also enjoyed the hotel golf course. The beach is clean and not far from the hotel. We stayed in an ocean view room with a balcony. A slice of heaven

The setting of 4750 Cafe is stunning with a pool and beach view. Staff is friendly and warm. Drinks are creative and potent. The desserts in their little cordial glasses are adorable. Too bad the mahi was overlooked and served on a bed of cold potatoes.

Dear Hugo S, Thank you for sharing your experience from your recent visit. I was thrilled to hear how pleased you were with the venue, the view, cocktails and dessert! I was disappointed to hear about the catch of the day. We strive everyday to provide exceptional service and product, and we have failed to do so during your recent... More

There's something to be said for the uniformity you get with Ritz-Carltons. It can be comforting to know in advance what the place will look like and what the service will be like (exactly like others in the brand), even what the staff will say when you ask something: "my pleasure." Still, for what you pay, it can be a... More

I guess I expected more from a Ritz. The building is at least 25 years old. It seems stitched together from multiple renovations with the ballrooms/meeting rooms down an obscure path and the spa and casual cafe across from each other and no straightforward path to the pool. The grounds are beautiful with well designed gardens everywhere. Exterior upkeep is... More
