I have stayed at the Florida House Inn three times over the years and I believe it has been with three different owners. The present caretakers of this cool, old hotel are very comfortable and friendly and it shows in the relaxed atmosphere of the place. The fountain patio in the back is restful in the late afternoon. Breakfast was... More

The inn is very well located allowing easy pedestrian access to central Fernandina Beach and pier. Parking on the parking lot is complimentary. Our room was very small and didn't have AC or fridge but luckily the ceiling fan was enough to keep us cool. The bar next door had loud live entertainment until 11 pm but other than that... More

I honestly feel like I stayed in a different place than everyone else who has reviewed this bed and breakfast. Past experiences I have had with B&Bs the Inn keepers are welcoming you into their home, and the experience should feel that way. My room felt dank, there were layers of dust on the bed posts, and it smelled old... More

The transom window above our door was covered with cardboard! Can you imagine? When I told the office staff, they said something about their decorator not getting around to finishing the upstairs rooms....they were not even embarrassed by it, offered me no discount, or any other considerations. I think that was very unprofessional! If Im going to pay over 100 dollars... More

I booked the hotel online and was a little nervous about what it would look like in person since I usually stay at a "chain" hotel. The hotel is a lovely old lady that has been carefully tended. Our room was small but it was charming and suited our needs. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed talking... More

We spent one night here on a road trip along east coast. Loads of atmosphere, great breakfast, and in very convenient place. Great bar next door and lovely veranda outside bedroom. Room was small but very quaint.

We stayed here July 5, 2014, and for a B&B it is just OK. The Inn is full of antiques with a neat porch and next to an outside bar with nice music. Noise was not an issue. Do not stay here if you want to feel like you want to get to know the innkeepers or feel like you... More

We stayed here, for the first time, over the fourth of July Saturday. by chance, we stumbled upon a great place with good folks/family running it. the music from the bar next door was not an issue after about 10:30, and the partiers cleared out after 11:00. great historical hotel, good breakfast, nice family running the show. Will definitely forgo... More

My wife and I did a one night stay here and got the smallest room by choice. If you're just in town for a quick trip the small room is okay but for a longer stay upgrade to a standard room. Great location and close to all the fun in the historic area. Skip the breakfast - worst ever!

If you prefer quaint inns to modern brand-name hotels, it’s probably because of the special treatment you expect to receive and the one-of-a-kind surroundings of an historic building. The parts of the Florida House Inn we saw were interesting though somewhat austere. The backyard, with its mermaid water fountain, is pleasant. But this Inn lacks even a modest amount of... More
