We arrived at the Florida House Inn by taxi from the Jacksonville airport on April 10th, looking forward to boarding the American Cruise Line’s Independence just 2 blocks away the following morning. In other words, the location of the inn is good for that purpose. The Hampton Inn, across from the dock, is better but was booked. The inn is... More

The hubby & I stayed here for an Easter weekend getaway. The biggest plus is the location and the laid-back staff. We stayed 2 nights and the first one I accidently booked a twin room. It was pretty uncomfortable & outdated. However, the 2nd night we were able to move to another room -- one with a queen bed. It... More

We chose to use non-branded hotels for this trip and thought staying in a historic inn would be just up our alley. Well, not so much. Pros: - Complimentary breakfast was a choice of pancakes with fruit or breakfast sandwich with hash browns, cooked to order. Large portions. Served for one hour only so don't be late! - On-site entertainment... More

Everything was just wonderful!! My wife and I came here for a two night stay and it was well worth the money. The staff is friendly, professional and go above and beyond to accommodate their guests! The chef, Marshall is fantastic and knows how to whip up some shrimp and grits! The rooms are clean and cozy! The courtyard is... More

The positive appeal of great location and a living history atmosphere were overshadowed by the noise level in our room. We were miffed by this, because in making reservations a week prior had specifically asked for a quiet room away from the loud bar next door. I repeated this request on arrival, when we were given room number three, upstairs... More

The Florida House was the perfect getaway from a brutally cold Michigan winter. Being on a quiet street within easy walking distance of shops, historic neighborhoods, dining and sightseeing opportunities was ideal. The staff was outstanding. The breakfasts and lunches were great. Sitting under a bright blue sky in the beautiful courtyard (with a beverage) under a 500 year old... More

If you like to be close to the action (what action there is in this pleasant, picturesque historic town) and have a comfortable place to return to at night, the Florida House Inn is the place you want. This historic home has the charm you're looking for along with hearty breakfasts, an in-house bar, a good restaurant and small but... More

The good news is that it is right in the heart of all the activity in the historic district and you have complimentary parking so you can walk everywhere. Having said that, there is a bar right next to the Inn so you don't want to have a room on that side of the building. Considering it was built around... More

This is a long story I will make short: My wife and I were looking forward to go and stay in this historic "Inn" for quite some time. Upon arrival at 7:15pm we were lead on a goose chase to find our room (bartender didn't know where it was). Our room looked liked something from "The Shining" and there was... More
