Apart from the noisy air con and squeaky bed, these things are not to put you off or a reason not to visit as this place is just tranquil. To lie in bed and watch a glorious sun rise with the sound the river outside your window and a hot coffee on the large balcony terrace was wonderful. The chalet... More

Been going there for 4 years. Large and well-appointed units, although some of the bedding and linen really need to be changed. It is also regrettable that it is impossible to open the bedromm windows because of air-conditioning units. That is a shame in the winter months when one could enjoy the breeze and the night noises instead of a... More

Very nice accommodation with spacious rooms. We stayed there in December 2014 with a family of five (3 generations) and inter alia enjoyed brakfasts on the terrace with a terrific view over the sea. Surroundings are also very nice with a lot of activites offered like airboat and swamp buggy tours. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and attributed... More

Not too many choices in Everglades City at the last minute. This place is old but clean. The ac did not work and toilet needed help to flush. Neither were fixed in our three nights there. Wont be back. Good point.......you can use the two canoes for free in area behind condos.

Everglades City was much smaller than we expected, but the Wilderness was just perfect, overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the lounge and kitchen as we had been staying in hotels up to this point, a real home from home.

River Wilderness are self catering units. They are clean, with basic set up. You need to make sure and bring bottled water, as all Everglades City is sitting at sea level. The water may come out yellow brown or clear, it depends on what is going on that day. The beds are OK, nothing wrong just, remember this is mostly... More

River Wilderness has a lovely setting right on the water, with great views and a spacious apartment. The back porch is particularly nice. If you are comfortable in a double wide trailer which needs a bit of updating then you may rate it higher than we do. But, even for a trip to the Everglades (which does not demand luxury,)... More

What a great place to stay for a visit to Old Florida. The one bedroom villa has a second floor view of Lake Placid with fish jumping, birds feeding and nesting. The unit was spacious and clean. This is a good place to have as a base to visit the private attractions and Everglades National Park locations. Restaurants are nearby.... More

What a gem, the owners a loverly and very helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean with everything you require. They give you the feel of the remote but the village (city) has everything you need and all the everglades are on your doorstep. Lots of things to do and trips to explore, a very good place for a safe... More
