My husband a I visited R.W again this year for what has now become our annual Everglades trip. We stayed 5 nights and again stayed in Unit 4. This time there was some new furniture and our room had a second air conditioner added in the bedroom. We had a great stay, the manager is so nice and just helps... More

These bungalows are located right on the river. It is very pretty and there's a boat launch steps from your unit. Each bungalow has a screened in porch which protects you from mosquitos but unfortunately not from no-see-ums, annoying little water fleas. I couldn't sit out there for more than ten minutes because they kept biting me. The location is... More

Just stayed at River Wilderness. A friend and I (both avid fisherman) stayed here for one night. The Good : Perfect location, everything very convenient (Food, Hardware and fishing store right across the street, gas station....ect). Boat ramp is right next door to property and there is no charge to use it. Offers a quick run direct to Choco Bay.... More

This place, as other reviewers are mentioning is a bit odd... It's definitely an experience staying in Everglades City, and is certainly off the beaten track. The villas look rather dated, inside and out, but they are kept in a good condition. The room came with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, as well as a large living room and kitchen space.... More

This place is weird i a good way. The staff is super friendly, plenty of great local knowledge and willing to accommodate all sorts of strange requests. There are free canoes to use (no obscure sign-up or deposit required, just if there is one available you're free to use it). The Villa we stayed at can best be described as... More

The bargain part may be because we visited in July which is very low season but bargain or not this place has all that you want for a few days in the Everglades. It is situated right on the riverside and with a screened deck at the back - the perfect place to lounge watching the water flow by. Each... More

We originally booked in to the Rod and Gun Club but decided not to stay, so drove around and stopped at Wilderness. We were 2 couples and wanted two en-suite rooms. Jean on the desk was charming and gave us a 2 bed suite with a large kitchen lounge. We had a water view. Everything was spotless and I would... More

These rooms are more like one bedroom apartments, which makes them more valuable than a standard hotel room if you have a family or are staying for a long period of time and use the kitchen. We did not really need all that space, so the cost we paid was a little high for what we got. It's an old... More

We stopped here on our way down to the Keys. We had such a pleasant stay that we reserved a room on the way home. It was spacious, comfortable, and the screened in porch overlooking the river was delightful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and eat out on the porch. Very nice.

These units are older but maintained. Our unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The screened in back porch was the best for relaxation and watching the wildlife. We will definitely stay in these Villa's again in the future. This is a fishing and boating village with extremely friendly people and stunning views. If you want to get away and... More
