Ivey House is a very comfortable acccommodation in a remote area of south-west Florida. Of course, there is not much to see in Everglades City, so this hotel is the perfect base from which to start the exploration of the region. The place is very quiet (or at least it was in July, which is low-season). Positive sides: the indoor... More

I went expecting the worst in this remote area, but instead was rewarded with excellent guides. Both John and Dillon were knowledgable, well spoken and made the group feel well protected. The hotel also was a pleasant surprise, the breakfast was delicious, the rooms comfortable and just delightful. T here was nothing that I could suggest needed improvement. I would... More

As part of our road trip we stayed for 2 nights at Ivey house and were a bit apprehensive about the "no heating, no TV, shared bathroom". This was all unfounded as it looks like they have refirbed recently (our lodge still smelt of paint) and it was very comfortable. Rooms are small but sufficient, staff couldn't help enough and... We stayed here for 3 nights at the Inn. the room is spacious with 2 beds. The bathroom is not so big but good enough.there is airconditioning in the room. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. You can eat breakfast, that is very good and get coffee the hole day. We booked à canoe tour for à half day... More

We did not stay here but they planned an amazing evening kayak adventure for my husband and I. The two of us went out with a fantastic guide named John Lewis for a 4 hour adventure including watching the sunset over the water and paddling back with nothing but the stars and our headlamps to guide us. We saw lots... More

We stayed in the lodge which has shared bathrooms. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. The lodge area is a little rustic and the bathrooms could be updated some but the stay served its purpose well for our trip. Main part of building and dining area decor was very tasteful and employees were super nice! We... More

This is a cross between a hotel and guesthouse, it is very friendly, clean, comfortable and the inclusive breakfast is very good . It has small pool in a courtyard covered over with insect mesh. It is very easy to find, although Everglades City is small and nothing is difficult to find.

Stayed three days in the cottage. Park at front door and enter thru screened porch. Clean updated cottage with kitchen and two bedrooms. No bugs or bad smells but remember it is a small cottage. Good breakfast provided in main building. Eggs / oatmeal / fruit and such. Restaurants in walking distance. Very quite because this remote city shuts down... More

It's isolated, with rooms all around a pool. For some reason, they gave us an handicapped-adapted room, so it was very big, and the shower was big but a bit unpractical (easy to flood all over the place). Nicely decorated, including a lovely setup of towels in swans shape. It was quite cold though, realized a bit late it was... More

You're way off the beaten track when you get to Everglades City, but this place definitely has the personal touch lacking in the hotel chains. The pool is especially nice, with a fern garden/waterfall and a screened lattice ceiling to keep the bugs at bay.
