Ivey House is on the edge of Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve in southwest Florida, Everglades City is a very small community and there are lots of activities for people that like the outdoors. We stayed in the Inn portion of property and were very happy with our room. This B&B is affiliated with Everglades Adventures but... More

Staff works hard to keep areas clean. Breakfast was included which was a nice touch since restaurants seem to be overpriced in Everglades City. Rooms have small refrigerator so bring drinks and snacks.

I was told the room available was "dorm style", which means no bathroom, tv, or phone. It was affordable, and had free breakfast and a/c so I took it. Unfortunately, the room walls are paper thing (I could hear neighbor breathing heavy) and one wall of my room was the men's bathroom. Overall, acceptable at the price and last minute,... More

We were on an annual fishing trip to Chokoloskee. The last time we went, we stayed at the campground in a tent. We were looking for something a little more comfortable, but affordable at the same time. The Ivey House was a good match. The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was great...nice hot... More

A well/run sparkling clean inn with breakfast included. Green-ethic details. I booked the sunset kayak and v was transported into a magical land of mangroves edging on the East River, then through mangrove alleyways narrow enough to pull yourself along with overhead roots. As Venus heralded sunset, the stars pooled in the sky and water, erasing the horizon. Our headlamps... More

I was on an adventure and traveling the Tamiami Trail from Tampa to Miami and decided to stay a day in Evergladed City. The Ivey House was exactly what I needed...a nice, clean place to lay my head for one night. I booked one of the "dorm" rooms that has a shared bathroom and a great history from the building... My young son and I really enjoyed our 2-night stay here. First of all, I'd like to mention that the staff we encountered were all super friendly and helpful. They asked about our day and gave good tips for dining, etc. The central location near many activities was ideal for us. We stayed in the lodge, which consists of dorm-style... More

I agree this is a semi outfitter B&B. Just a place to sleep and serve as a base camp for excursions into the Glades. There is no pool. The place is in fairly clean good condition. Pleasant staff. Not a real B&B. Breakfast is sub par but you won't starve. Prices reasonable. However, right across the street are tons of... More

We two couples stayed at Ivey House in early March 2015 for 3 nights. We shared the cottage "Homestead" which had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 sitting rooms, and a dining room. Rooms were not big, and the layout of the house took a little get-use-to. But it was clean. And the beds and linen were comfortable (each... More

On the edge of the Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve in remote southwest Florida, Everglades City attracts Eco-tourists, fishermen, and the adventurers. Most of its hostelries are "quaint," but the Ivey House is clearly the most comfortable option available. Many of their lodging guests also take advantage of guided kayak adventures on the nearby waterways, and another... More
