My family had visited the Ko Ko Kai years ago and had enjoyed it immensely. Lately I heard that the conditions were not as I fondly remembered. The owner contacted us to try them again. Wow. What an extensive renovation! New furniture and furnishings, new appliances, new decks and the same great view. I heartily recommend the hotel to anyone,... More

We recently spent 3 days at this Hidden Gem of a small beach resort, great value with beautiful private beach. The new owners are well on their way to making this one of the most unique and interesting small get away spots in the area.....a true organic beach experience. Great staff , freshly remolded rooms with nice pool and killer... More

I write for a travel magazine and found myself in Englewood, Fl. for a assignment without a reservation. I called a few places on the beach which were booked solid. While I was out talking to a few locals, I was told to try the Ko Ko Kai as It just reopened from a full renovation, and was under new... More

YOU HAVE TO SEE THE NEW KO KO KAI in the Manasota Key Stayed there 4 nights November 1, 2014 to November 5, 2014 It is beautiful – it is under new management. The pool looks brand new-resort quality. Everything is being redone. Our unit was completely redone with new furniture, we had a brand new sleep number bed. It... More

Stay away, this is the most disgusting place I have ever seen. Run by drugged out drunk, rude people. Room was not ready, really? Showed us another room, upgrade, more $$$, it was despicable, should be closed down by the health department, mold, broken glass, fixtures falling off walls, beds smell etc etc. PLEASE, someone needs to close this place... My husband booked this for me as a quiet get-away from their web site. I was not impressed as I drove into the property. Looked like a junky trailer park. As my husband had already paid a deposit I decided to go ahead and at least see the room. The lady who greeted me in the parking lot said the... More

First let me say the owner (Steve) was very helpful when we arrived. This hotel is right on the beach, not much beach area maybe I mean right on the water, absolutely beautiful! That said upon our arrival the room we reserved was not ready so he upgraded us to a larger unit and like I said right smack dab... More

Koko Kai is the worst excuse for a hotel I have ever seen. The owner walked out in a bikini and was very unfriendly. The trailers were filthy inside and out with rotting walls. Definitely not sanitary and it is probably illegal. The pool is green and not even working. And the people that hang around there look like they... More

When reading the reviews for this "resort" the ones that say the place is disgusting are right on target and the reviews that say this is a wonderful place to stay must have been paid!!!! My husband and I have traveled all over the world and this is by far the most disgusting, nightmarish place we ALMOST stayed in. When... More

I arrived at 11pm and found what you will see in the pictures. The place was absolutely disgusting. The facilities are old, there was mold in the closet, cockroaches in the cup in the bathroom, rust on the doors, and it stunk like stale cigarette smoke. It took 3 tries to contact the property manager and he didn't leave his... More
