It was the fith time I stayed in this hotel. Not because of the hotel itself, but because of the area and the italien restaurant next door. Now the hotel firms under Gem Coast Inn. Take a room on the backside. The rooms on the streetside are very noisy. The rooms are clean and many attractions and restaurants are nearby...also... More

I have stayed here in the past when it was the veranda and was pleased then, even more so now as the Gem Coast Inn. Love the updates and very pleased with the friendly service. Room large and clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job. I will definitely be back the next time I visit my family.

Needed a place to stay on the fly and this worked great. The front desk was kind and the rooms were nice and clean. The walls were a bit thin so if you can swing a room on the side opposite the road, do that. That being said, I had a room on the road side and slept great. Also,... More

Old hotel, supposedly newly renovated. If it was, I can't imagine how awful it was before! I apologize to my kids for having put them up here when it was still the Veranda Inn. Afraid to walk across the floors barefoot, old musty smell hits you when you open the door. Entrance was blocked by truck towing a big fishing... More

Had a great stay at the Gem Coast.Great eating within walking distance. Excellent beaches close by and 20 minute drive to the Placidia boat ramp where we meet out charter captain to fish Boca Grande. Will definitely be back next year for a one month stay hopefully in your two bedroom apartment. Thanks again for a great stay at your... More

Older hotel that is kept up nicely. Average size rooms, but very clean. Great staff. Really like the pool and parking area. Very close to road, so lots of road noise but usually dies down at night. On the main road through Englewood so plenty of restaurants and stores, Not many attractions. But that is what I love about this... More

The hotel was clean, and the room was very roomy. The price could have been better due to the following. Nothing in the morning not even simple Danish. The room I had was no further than 30-40 feet from the road. One would think when you refurbish the inn you would put sound dampers. For three straight days I went... More

We apologize for your discomfort during your stay with us. We had been sold out for months when you checked in to our Inn. If a room on the back side had opened we gladly would have moved you. Many of our customers have been staying here for many years and always book many months in advance to ensure they... More

This used to be the Veranda Inn. However, the new owner has both changed the name and made some much needed improvements...new beds, new carpet, new tv's. I love all these significant improvements. No question that this the best Hotel in the area.

This was my third vacation at the Veranda Inn/Gem Coast Inn. I was delighted to see that the property is under new management and is being restored to its prior status. The property is in a great location, close to the beach, shopping, great restaurants and I love the pool. This trip we had 4 different rooms as we booked... More
