Nice setting, nice pools and great service. Nice room and get this - has coffee maker, microwave even toaster. This was super convenient as we were trying to conserve money. The beach is great, got seaweed (but it was little windy that day so perhaps this has had something to do with it) About the prices you would expect in... more

The Keys is definitely known for having older hotels with no frills at slightly high prices. This hotel by no means is anything fancy and it is definitely an older hotel that has been beat up by lovers of the sea and pets. We selected the efficiency room #107 because it was the least expensive. I expected the small pool,... more

We were visiting the Florida Keys for quiet relaxation, seeing wildlife (Birding Festival), taking photographs and generally getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From our hotel we did not expect a all amenities included resort. The Yellowtail Inn is a no frills property. It is OLD Florida. The beach is not bad... anyone who lives in... more

The Yellowtail Inn was exactly what I was looking for for a family vacation. Not fancy, but right on the beach with a view of the water. We have a 3 year old and this was a perfect beach for him. The water is shallow for a long way out which some may not like but it was perfect for... more

The Yellowtail Inn was a total disappointment. The room (cottage 106) was nasty with animal odors, animal hair, sand fleas and filty when we arrived. The beach was nasty with a strong odor that smelled like sewage. The water has a grassy sea weed that intangles on your body and there is no wave action to bring fresh sea water... more

First off let me say that this post has no reflection on the staff. They are very kind and very accomodating! In a nut shell.....The boat moorings are 400 feet off shore, so at high tide you may pull up to the dock to load/unload but only if you have a smaller boat. NOT A PLACE FOR BOATERS! Only 2... more

We woke up to an ocean view every morning and lounged in the hammocks on the beach every evening. Located in the middle of the keys, it was less than one hour to Key West (south) and to John Pennecamp State Park (north). It is also minutes from gold-medal-winner Curry Hammock State Park (snorkeling/kayaking/etc.) and the old "Seven Mile Bridge"... more

When we arrived the AC stopped working, they fixed it. when we came in that nite and turned the bed down, there was a bloody bugger on the bed springs and bloody snot wiped on the wall above the bed. The door molding in the very small not very well lit bathroom was black from hands and the baseboards were... more

We really enjoyed our stay in this resort- apart from the weather, we had a great view, could not get any closer to the beach, all the staff were friendly and they allowed dogs all over the property. The room was clean, the bed comfy and and we thought we had a ton of space. The room we stayed in... more

I have stayed at this place twice before and it was not that terribly bad especially since it is a pet friendly hotel. I always stay in the largest suite. However after coming back a few years later, this place has become such a dump. The furniture is old and shabby, the place could do with a pressure wash first... more
