We spent the weekend right on the sand, gulf front. The location couldn't be better for a weekend at the beach. The only downside is there isn't a sewer hookup at these sites, but the bathhouses were functional with shower facilities and toilets. They will come around and pump your camper for a small fee, which is nice. There is... More

We stayed during Easter week. The park was at capacity yet the staff still did an exceptional job in all areas. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with a smile and expertly guided into our site-helping to back us in and get situated. By far the best part of Camp Gulf is the beach and the sugary sand.... More

We can't wait for you to come back again too! Thanks for the kind words. The Hippo Slide did have a rip in it and was unsafe. We are running it free this time of year a few hours for a few days per week. The repair man was on Spring break too. He should be here today (I know... More

We were booked into Camp Gulf for 2 nights, the rest of our vacation was spent in St. Petersburg. I wish we had spent the entire vacation at Camp Gulf. The staff were wonderful, the park was clean and beautiful, the location was convenient to everything. The best part though, was the beach. The most incredible beach I've been to.... More

Stayed first three days on beach. It was great. Ya it's nice staying right off beach"last four days" but being able to sit behind your mobile what ever is awsome. Best sight is 815. U have your own beach look out with out others blocking view. I stayed in 814. Was great also because you can chill behind you fifth... More

nothing like the beach! I was just down there catching sand fleas and baby flounder with my kids for fishing tomorrow at sunrise. I stay up by the highway, wish I was down on the front too. Sorry about no sewer on the beachfront, we have to keep it clean so we pump them out daily. Thanks for the comments.... More

We brought our kids and their friends here for spring break. From the website it looked like it had a lot to offer people with kids. We camped right on the beach and have to say the view was amazing a tad over priced but I wasnt going to complain. Until the workers that drive around on the gulf carts... More

Thank you for your comment and posting. We are a very kid-friendly park with tons of activities for the kids to do. We are glad you had a good time but sad that you feel this way about the speed limit and our enforcement of it. I have discussed your visit with each of the managers here and we are... More

The RV park is rated 4 for its location on the Gulf. The beach is fantastic and it is fun to relax by the water. We were parked near the water and spent every day on the beach--a very short walk. This is a famiy oriented place with 2 pools. There is a play area for kids the pond has... More

Yes, What a location! There are so few right on the beach offering this "fantastic fun and relaxation" as you put it. Thank you for the description of all the things to do and for posting your honest experience. Great idea for putting doors on the front of the dumpsters. It is spring break and the trash does surpass pickups... More

We made a reservation by phone, we were traveling from Biloxi. From talking to customer service we thought "a beach site"would be the perfect place for us. Customer service told me it was very nice. We arrived and it wasn't what we expected. Tiny spot with weeds as tall as my four year old. After a night we moved to... More

We are glad you stopped by. Sorry to hear that you prefer the State Park system to our location. They are a mile and a quarter walk to the beach and yes, they are cheaper. We can not compete with the tax subsidized system (that we pay so it can be kept cheaper). They do not have the expenses that... More

Did my research, even used satellite photography. I was still skeptical. I've been recently burned in the Keys. This just became my favorite FL campground. Beachfront has no sewer hookup, but everywhere else has multiple sewer hookups per site. You can find tree cover, clear sky, pull-thrus, back ins, even pull ins. Few, if any, extended stay sites. Tiered structure... More

Thanks for doing your homework! We appreciate when folks understand that there are so few places actually on the beach and what it takes to hold onto it and keep it up. We pride ourselves in using photos only from here. So many places will show the local area and imply that they are at the water. Yes, we have... More

So glad to hear! Thanks for the kind words. And the bathrooms will be even better next year for you as they are undergoing renovations (tiled showers with glass doors, new mirrors, new lights and fixtures). Some are completed and all will be done by summer. See you next time. Happy Camping! More

Had a great stay in Destin at Camp Gulf. Our kids had a cabin (some issues with not enough hot water but otherwise good). We stayed on the beach front site where there was no sewer. As expensive as it was (off season) they charged for the honey wagon, but it was necessary in our small RV. This during the... More

Love to hear about a great stay! Cabins are 'on-demand' hot water so it can take a minute to get to you in the shower, but it's endless. Yes, we charge for the 'honey-wagon' removing the sewer thru gravity flow is expensive because it also take so much sand with it. In fact we are doing the pipe cleaning maintenance... More
