This is an old hotel converted into a B&B so it has charm if not the most modern amenities. The restaurant and hotel are owned by a couple who were also quite charming. We can't say enough about the restaraunt. A hidden gem! more

We stopped there on a business trip because I had heard the restaurant was really good. We checked in and were told the restaurant wasn't available because they had a murder-mystery dinner/show. Seriously. The poor guy went to the manager and asked if we could get something and was told "no." So he recommended Beef O'Brady's. Really, he did. There... more

We'd like to think all of our stays were as pleasurable as this one. This little town is always a quick stop - to get gas - then move on. This time we took an opportunity to look around and visit. We traveled by this Hotel, looked it up on the internet, and noticed Tripadvisor had no review on it.... more

This is a neat, old hotel. Our room was pretty and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and good. There is a park down the street. However, the windows in our room were all frosted so we could not see outside (claustrophobia!). The air conditioners on adjacent roofs were loud. They do not offer complementary refreshments. They were out of syrup... more

My husband was bicycling across Florida and it was my task to find places to stay along the way. When I came upon DeFuniak Springs (along I-10) I was not impressed with the hotel/motel choices along the interstate, so I decided to go into town to see what was "historic" in downtown DeFuniak. I was SO surprised to find this... more

The next time you're racing out west or back east on I-10 why not do yourself a favor and stop at this little gem instead of bunking at one of the many chains strung out along the Florida panhandle. We discovered the Hotel Defuniak on the net and decided to give it a try, and boy, we're we glad we... more

Perfect place for an overnight stay. The hotel is beautifully furnished. The lobby is very cozy and a great place to chat or read. We stayed in the Art Deco room, and would recommend it. Very friendly staff. The restaurant is attached to the hotel serves great soft-shell crab, and the prices are reasonable. Parking is free, and right in... more

Stayed here one night 9 June 2008. Found the hotel by chance while travelling along the panhandle. It was mentioned in our guide book so we thought we would take a look. Very pleased we did. This is a hotel in the old fashioned style, such a refreshing change from endless non descript motels. Great welcome by the new owners... more

I stayed one night this past weekend at the Hotel DeFuniak. From the time I checked in to the time I left, I felt warmly invited by the entire staff. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. The best part, however, was having dinner at the adjoining restaurant. The food and the service were both wonderful. I would definitely... more
