I don't even know where to start about this hotel. It's not by any means a "trashy" place to stay, it's just old. The hotel itself is not my complaint... it's the people running it. We were in Daytona for Bike Week 2009, we stayed from Friday (2/27) to Saturday (3/7). First off they had our check in date wrong,... more

After reading reviews from previous guests about how horrible this place was, my boyfriend and I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt...but as we should have expected, it was pretty much just as the reviews said it would be...awful and uncomfortable and nothing but a headache. We arrived here around 10 a.m. after driving over 14... more

This is absolutely the worst hotel we have ever seen. We arrived the weekend of 4th of July. The staff was not helpful it took 45 minutes to check in just to get in the dirtiest room we have ever seen. When we let the manager know we were not happy and would be checking out we had no luck... more

These rooms are outdated to say the least. I had an oceanfront with a mini kitchen but had to jockey for it. Make sure if you want a oceanfront that's exactly what's booked. Can't tell you the number of people who thought they were getting oceanfront but instead ended up with peekaboo views from the side. Be very careful in... more

My husband was staying at The Islander for business and I decided to drive up and visit him for the weekend. I wasn't expecting much as his company isn't known for shelling out a lot of money for hotels. I went up Thanksgiving weekend and definately picked the wrong weekend for a visit. It was the Pop Warner Football Championships... more

My experience at the Islander was terrible, as far as the housekeeping. My son football team and I stayed for a whole week, we enjoyed the stay but housekeeping did not want to clean our rooms, they barely left towels, and if we complained to front desk there wasn't anything they could or would even try to do to satisfy... more

My wife and I wanted to get out of Orlando for the weekend. We found the Islander Resort in Daytona and found ourselves pleasantly surprised. The hotel looks like it was built in the 70's, but it was clean and the staff were most pleasant. I especially appreciate the desk. We were looking for a good restaurant and they took... more

Long has gone the day of Daytona, when it was filled with happy smiling beach goers as was in the 80's. We arrived in Daytona, the area was dingy, gloomy and run down. Bars on windows, store fronts closed, and the lingering of a town that has been used, abused and left to to its own demise. With that we... more

The rate we paid for this hotel was low, which made me a bit nervous. However, the pool was fantastic, the beach access perfect, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. The Islander is ideal for a budget-friendly venue. more

My husband and I traveled to the Daytona Beach area in early November for a trade show at the Ocean Walk Convention Center, but thought it would be nice to stay away from Downtown. Due to budget constraints, I had extensively researched TripAdvisor and settled on the Islander Beach Resort in New Smyrna Beach, a 20 minute drive south of... more
