We love this place! My sister and I travel over from Orlando for weekends and have stayed at the Tropical Manor many times. Various types of rooms, efficiencies, and suites are available--good for families, couples, friends, whatever. (The motel's website has detailed descriptions and pictures of the different configurations.) The oceanfront suites are really special: I like the upstairs ones... more

It's only May 12th and we tried to reserve a suite at the Tropical Manor for the 2nd and 3rd of July of this year, not a surprise we weren't able to book it. We've read reviews about this place thought we would give it a try. We saw pictures of the place as well as read reviews on how... more

To celebrate my aunt’s 90th birthday the family decided to meet in Florida so that she could once again celebrate the big day with a skydive in DeLand, FL. The Tropical Manor was found by a cousin who lives in DeLand. Upon first seeing the literature and the web site I was a bit worried about the funkiness of the... more

We (myself, husband, sister, mother) stayed at the Tropical Manor last week (July 10-15) in a cute little 2 bedroom apartment across the street from the office (#51). It was wonderful. First, check in was a breeze. The staff were friendly and efficient. The only thing you should be prepared for is paying for the room up front. We were... more

In this age of the high-rise condo there are fewer and fewer small, family-owned hotels left on the beach. When we arrived at Tropical Manor we knew we had found a piece of "Old Florida". When we arrived we were given a tour of the property and shown several rooms. The hotel was brightly painted. The rooms were all neat... more

The hotel was very charming and campy, but overrun with sand mites--the front desk said they were native to Florida and there was nothing they could do. I've stayed oceanfront in Florida and never had to share a room with tiny bugs before!! The towels had stains on them and the room was not swept for the 4 days we... more

I've been going to Daytona for over 20 years and this is the nicest place I've been. Very nicely kept-up. Clean. Pleasant atmosphere. Good location. Excellent for friends at bike week or family any other time. Rooms are large, clean and well equipped. It has a very nice pool overlooking the ocean. Two barbecue pit under canopy with tables. Everything is... more

The hotel is located at a great spot on the beach if you are looking for a less congested area and easy access to rentals for lounge chairs/umbrella, food and beach activity concessions. We booked at the last minute so we did get a smaller room than we would have liked. There is no maid service on Sunday but you... more
