Booked in here after seeing the pictures on the website, unfortunately we had to leave without staying due to a personal problem, however, we quoted the deal price of £59 as per the website, but the room we would have stayed in, wasn't very nice, it smelled damp, was desperately in need of updating, the bed and mattress were very old... Lantern Pike Inn: The location is perfect, the food is wonderful and the accommodation is exactly what you need after a lovely day out. All staff members are very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend Lantern Pike Inn to our friends.

Your typical Derbyshire Country pub, that also has 'letting bedrooms' I wasn't expecting a lot from the rooms and we got ours at a reasonable price. The welcome is warm and friendly and the pub staff are attentive, both fires were lit and the husband enjoyed the Timothy Taylor ! Coronation Street memorabilia is on the walls , Tony Warren... My partner and I wanted a much-needed break and decided we wanted to stay in a good old fashioned pub with an open fire and a friendly environment. Upon arriving at the Lantern Pike we were not disappointed. The staff and customers were extremely welcoming and there was a roaring fire with a vacant seat next to it with my... More

My partner and I took advantage of a special out-of-season offer which seemed too good to be true. But it was everything we could have dreamed of, and more. For a start the pub itself looks just what a traditional country inn should look like, with a roaring log fire and bric-a-brac around its walls. Then the scenery in The... More

Visited this site on return from walk up Bleaklow from nearby Glossop. It was a Tuesday early evening and there was only one other patron who was a local. We were made to feel very welcome, and the publican was was happy to tell us about the pub links to the writer and original actors of Coronation Street, a number... More

We had stayed at this beautifully quaint inn previously and once again we had another great weekend enjoying the Lantern Pike Inn's fabulous hospitality. Great food & drink and very pleasant & helpful staff. Good location for walking/hiking, especially when you can walk to Kinder Scout from the Inn without making a car journey. Really enjoyed our stay again and... More

Our group of hill-walkers ahs been taking lunch stops at the Lantern Pike for some years - and we intend to continue with these delightful visits! We usually call during the winter months, and are therefore very grateful to be welcomed by a burning fire after wading through snow! The warmth of the fire is duplicated in the warmth of... More

I popped into this quaint pub to ask if I could park outside whilst walking up Lantern Pike with my dog Koda. I was made to feel very welcome by the young barman and the pub was so toasty and hot with a welcoming roaring fire. The barman spoke about the promotions on offer and said that there were steak... We had a short steep walk up to the summit of lantern pike, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We then had a lovely meal afterwards at the lantern pike Inn. Very generous portions and tasty food!
