I popped into this quaint pub to ask if I could park outside whilst walking up Lantern Pike with my dog Koda. I was made to feel very welcome by the young barman and the pub was so toasty and hot with a welcoming roaring fire. The barman spoke about the promotions on offer and said that there were steak... We had a short steep walk up to the summit of lantern pike, beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We then had a lovely meal afterwards at the lantern pike Inn. Very generous portions and tasty food!

Over the past 7+ years we have stayed at Lantern Pike many times, usually between Christmas & New Year, and have never been disappointed. Tom & Stella hadn't long taken over the pub when we first visited. There is always a warm welcome & the locals are friendly & happy to chat. Food is tasty, recommend the sea bass, and... More

Just from back from an excellent Topside of beef Sunday lunch at this venue, As a fussy customer who normally does not eat in pubs (I usually cook better food than that I am presented with in pubs) but today I had no time to cook, I was delighted to have a plate of food I could not fault, beautiful... I had the pleasure of staying here twice over the last few weeks and was extremely happy with everything about it The room was good value and the food both in the evenings and at breakfast was fantastic. The staff and landlord and landlady were very pleasant and accommodating and ensured everything was in order for me. This is an... More

This pub used to be excellent but unfortunately not now. Had lunch here with friends recently and while the staff were nice the same could not be said for the food. The food was served to all of us on cold plates which is not a good start. I had chicken curry with half rice and chips and nan bread,... More

We couldn’t eat until after 8pm because they had 30+ in for their Christmas dinner which we weren’t told about when we booked. Fish was served with its gut still in and my steak was ok but I’ve had better blackcurrant cheesecake from a supermarket. Our complaints were greeted with a grunt and I opted for the Christmas pudding instead and... More

Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Cracking pint (several) of Theakston's Black Bull, food exceptional (both pate's..yum!); steak spot on; breakfast a great start to both days. The pudding finished us of on Saturday night. The room was just what was needed, comfy (bed was really comfy...slept like a log!) and all you need for a short stay. Made... More

I hired Park Hall for my 50th birthday and the 4 poster room at the Lantern Pike as we had filled the house. They kindly did the catering for us on the Saturday evening which not only tasted fab but was served hot with a smile and was very good value for money. Then we had breakfast at the Lantern... More
