Absolutely perfect! Tracy is so welcoming. We had rooms 4 & 5 - more than adequate for our family of 4 + 2 kids. We fell in love with this place and the locals, so we just had to have an extra night. The eco pool is unique, and Cpt White's Tour & Swimming with Manatees is AWESOME! the only... More

Crystal River is the type of place where you want to stay in local places, eat homemade food and enjoy the small town life! When I looked for hotels in the area, Kings Bay Lodge looked just what I wanted. And it was exactly what I was looking for. The tiny motel is right on the water and totally reminded... More

This is a perfect place to stay! The room was large and had a very convenient kitchen with all the things you need to do basic cooking. Comfy chairs and beds. Bathroom very efficient and lots of warm water. All was quite clean. We saw a manatee at the dock at the end of the property on our first evening... More

Every room is different and every room has owners but is run as a motel. Our room was the best we ever had. It has plenty of room, an extra large TV, a kitchen with appliances that work, storage space...The place is like a cabin or litle house you live in while in the area. We were unable to try... More

First of all, I want to say that my wife and I didn't totally agree on what rating to give this motel. Initially, I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but let me explain that... This place is NOT a five-star hotel! It is exactly as the owner represents it. It is a facility that clearly has been in... More

Yep, it's an old Florida motel. Each of it's 18 rooms are different. Room #10 (where we stayed) has a king bed, 2 comfortable chairs, a sofa, 42" TV, kitchenette with a dining table with 4 chairs. My wife who only likes to stay at "nicer" hotels, is very satisfied with this place. Be adventuresome and get off the Beaten... More

I belong to a group of active 50-70 year-olds, and about 20 of us spent a delightful weekend at the Kings Bay Lodge recently. I can't take credit for booking our rooms, but profusely thanked the member who did - this is a great place! Don't be fooled by the exterior - the lodge may be 50 or 60 years... More

My husband and I were looking for a local, unique place to stay and found the King's Bay Lodge. Our LARGE room was very clean and comfortable. The natural "florida" pool was very unique, as was the setting for this motel. If you want to get "out of the box", this Motel is the place.

Kings Bay Lodge is one of those places that people will either 1) really like or 2) think is an old dump. My wife and I are in the "really like" category and would definitely stay here again if in the area. The place is an old motor court motel that was likely built in the 60's or 70's. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our little corner of "Paradise" was built starting in 1954,in stages all the way to 1957, and down through the years, past Managers did not take the "Loving Care" of it, that Mitch & I are trying to. We came into this position knowing that we had our work cut out for us, however, the extent of disrepair was not so evident. With each remodel, or repair, we are NOT "Putting on a Bandaid", as past Managers have, we are actually trying to bring it back to its former "Glory"! This takes Time & Money, and as we usually stay Booked throughout the year, we have to coordinate so that the rooms are "Down" for the least amount of time possible, and with the least amount of "Disruption" to the guests in residence. Times are rather tough with our economy in such disarray, and I hope that our "Loyal" guests continue to come and our "Potential" guests understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, and we truly are trying to do our Best with the resources that we have, and that eventually we will have the "Entire" Lodge restored to its Former Glory! Please, give us a chance, try us out, we will do everything in our power to make your stay as Pleasant & Memorable as possible!!! ... more   less
