I've stayed here 3 times now, on business trips in Miami. I don't know who found the hotel, it's a strange one, but surprisingly nice and I'd definitely recommend it as a good base for a Miami trip (if you don't want to be in South Beach). Stayed at the Mayfair for 4 nights. Found the best rate on easyclick travel, which the hotel directly would not match which seems a little odd. The location is near to Miami airport and the location is good for restaurants and bars. Parking is very expensive at the hotel and you can find much cheaper parking in the nearby parking... more

Our stay at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa was "just fair". The positives: Maxie's Restaurant (particularly the Ribeye and the "Souffle' for Two"), the location-minutes from shopping/restaurants and nightlife, the room was spacious and Jerry was very helpful with any thing we needed. Hotel is grossly overrated. Check in staff was rude. Towels and bed linen were dingy. Atrium is uncomfortable due to sun beaming down unmercifully upon guests. My boyfriend and I chose to stay here to be close to some friends, and were very excited about the location. Right near downtown Coconut Grove, near shopping, tons of food, book stores, etc. Location CANNOT be beat. Mayfair Hotel is pretty decent, but not the best. We got a great deal on this hotel and it had pretty good reviews on here. So here is my list of the best and the worst of the hotel.
