We picked a oceanfront room knowing that it was a side view (oceanfront direct is the actual oceanfront room category) and really the view was of the old-not so pretty 'cocoa beach pier'. We just spent 3 nights at this hotel. Great location as far as being beachfront. But be sure to specify that you want an oceanFRONT room, as opposed to "ocean view." I just got back from from a three day stay with my mom and five year old nephew. The location is fantastic and is directly on the beach right next to the pier.
