Cedar Key is the kind of town that is out of the way and if you ever are lucky enough to find it, you will be hooked. We stayed in "The Honeymoon Suite" which was fun. Don't expect the Ritz, or even a Holiday Inn type of place. This was pure homey. Window a/c units. A shower build for someone... More

9 ABATE of FL, Inc, Lake County chapter, couples rode up on a Fri for the weekend. This is our 2nd Annual getaway with friends. Joan makes the place, she is great with an awesome singing voice. She got us to play "mullet tossing" and remote boat races. It is a mom & pop's with southern charm & ambiance. The pavilion... More

A group of us spent the weekend here and we all loved it! We couldn't have asked for cleaner rooms or a warmer welcome. The management is awesome, she will go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. It's a small, older motel but kept up and kept very clean with great beds and rooms fixed up so cute it... More

We were on our way from the panhandle to Homosassa. We decided to stop and see Cedar Key for a one night overnight stop. We read online that it was mom and pop motels in that area and just drove in to find out it there was a room available. The manager, Joan, was so helpful and friendly we felt... More

We stayed for labor day weekend and enjoyed every second of it! Joan, the office manager was very nice and helpful. The motel does not have maid service, but if we needed anything we just asked for it. We stayed in room 8 which has a private patio, which was great for playing guitar and having drinks while watching the... More

We stayed at the Gulf Side Motel over the Labor Day weekend. We rented a room sight unseen and got several surprises when we showed up. First, all of the pictures on the web are about 20 years od, second, the hotel is for sale and the maintenance left something to be desired, third, you were on your own for... More

I'm glad to hear that you were pleased with the staff, they are new and we believe that they are doing a wonderful job so far. It is good to know that our guests agree. As for the dock, it is unfortunate that it was destroyed by a storm. Unfortunately, we cannot sue mother nature! Also, the Honeymoon Suite is... More

Near but yet so far. Super getaway. Friendly lady runs this waterside motel. Rooms are clean and quiet. No traffic. Be prepared for your cell phone to stay silent as there is no tower easily reached from here. I had a few calls and had to step outside to talk so I decided to do without except for what I... More

First trip to Cedar Key and so glad we stayed at Gulf Side. Stayed in the Honeymoon Suite that had a great balcony/patio. All the fun stuff was within walking distance and Mama Joan was extremely nice and accommodating to us. If I ever make it back up there, it will be my first call for a room.

You will be sorry! Was a dump. Must be 75 years old. Room a/c didn't work. Sheets had brown spots all over them. Only power was extension cord going everywhere. TV didn't work. Bath had no soap, Kit. was filthy, whole space was about 500 sq. ft. Surprised health dept. hasn't shut it down. Good reviews here are a joke.... More

The motel was built in the 1950's so yes, it is a building with some history, almost 75 years worth! The extension cord issue has been resolved, but none of the TVs have been reported as not working. If your room was out of soap, then it should've been brought to the attention of the manager so that it could... More

This was our second visit to Cedar Key and had stayed at the Gulf Side before. To our surprise and delight they have new managers. Laura and Dave made us feel like guests and not a number. We will be returning in the spring on our return trip down. Here's to the owners making a great choice on management..Cheers!!
