From the impersonal but efficient attention of chain motels and hotels, this little place with only 6 cottages is a pleasure. Rooms are individually decorated. We had a screened porch overlooking the waterway. Very quiet. Complete kitchen if you are staying longer. The town is small on the Gulf Coast and sleepy at this time of year. Highly recommend this... This is a perfect location close to everything. Pet friendly. Run by father and son who couldn't be nicer. Cottage 6 has a lovely deck. Make sure to say hello to billy the cat who has a been a resident for years.

We had cottage number 2, which featured a double bed and futon/sofa. There was extensive water damage in the bathroom (the floor was very springy), but this didn't stop us from enjoying the cabin. The fridge was very large and the stove appeared to work fine. The free wifi was essential as our phones had spotty reception. One major downside... More

We arrived late this past Friday night for a weekend fishing trip with a friend, Donna had everything ready for cottage #5 for our late arrival, I've visited cedar keys a dozen times over the past several years and have stayed numerous places but this one I've enjoyed the most, the cottage was perfect, very quiet, clean and the beds... I have read some of the reviews, and am a little confused by the disappointment others have experienced. I got exactly what I expected,a quaint little cottage. Yes they are older, but they are immaculate. If you are looking for a high end resort, move on. The owners son was extremely nice and helpful. For 80 dollars a night, you can't beat it. We... More

We spent 5 months at Pirates Cove while we were building a home and the owner's couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. The cottage was cleaned on a regular basis and the grounds were kept neat. The cottages are within walking distance of town and restaurants. If you are looking for a home feel while on vacation, search no... More

We stay here whenever we go to Cedar Key. The staff are always very hospitable and friendly. The cottages have a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Don't expect expensive looking and plush; just simple, clean, and comfortable! We always enjoy our stay!

Really sweet, quaint cottage with view out the back to quiet tidal inlet. Small room but had everything we needed, including crockery & cutlery, little stove top & microwave, meant we could cook dinner & eat outside the cottage watching the sunset. Nautical themed decoration but not too cheesy, just enough Pirates and parrots to justify the name! Cottages and... More

We took a little weekend trip to Cedar Key and stayed at Pirates Cove. We booked last minute and stayed in Cabin #4. The bed was very comfortable and my husband wanted to bring the pillow home with us! Nice guy at the desk, informative and friendly. We enjoyed our night there very much. The only "issue" we had was... More

Very cute little place. Justin was very accommodating. Billy always greeted you in the morning. Our cottage needed a little bit of improvement (#3) Like a new mattress. Two nights of no sleep and sore backs. The A/C unit is right above your head. So with a new mattress and rearrange the room I would give the property a 5.... More
